Another 1 Year Anniversary Celebration

Hi everyone,

Many times it seemed like this day would never come, but now I am the one posting about the one year anniversary of my daughter's (and a few months later my wife's) Celiac diagnosis. What a difference a year makes! Last year, prior to the diagnosis, we had my daughter's birthday party (May 1st) at a local gymnastics center. She wanted so badly to play but she could hardly go. By the end of it she was nodding off to sleep. This year we went to the same place and none of the other kids could keep up with her!

I don't post much but I read often and wanted to thank you all for your insight and support. For any newly diagnosed reading this, it WILL get better. Is it hard? Absolutely, but it can be done. One day you will be celebrating your 1 year annivesary as well.

We are blessed with unbelievable support from our family. Yesterday for Mother's day we had dinner at my aunt and uncle's and she cooked a completely gluten free meal all herself! You all can appreciate what it meant to my wife and daughter to go to a dinner party and bring NOTHING! We just showed up empty handed and ate the same thing everyone else did. It was the best Mother's Day my wife has ever had.
