Physician In Northern California?

I don't know who or even what kind of physician to go to. I've been strict gluten free for 4 months, dairy free and nightshade free for 2 months and now I'm down to home prepared meat, green vegetables, and fruit. I'm still having GI symptoms if I add anything else and I'm continuing to drop weight. My Internist is not helpful and my Gastroenterologist is nice but said "no one has perfect enzymes" (what?!), but prescribed Creon, which isn't helping.

Another poster mentioned other underlying conditions that might be the cause. I've had all the usual mainstream testing done, but no heavy metals, lyme etc.

Do I go to a holistic MD, a celiac specialist (but who?), or someone else?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My problems: GI symptoms, allergies, unintentionally losing weight.

OH, that's me 7 years ago. The weight loss was very painful. I ended up dropping "all the favorite foods", so take eggs, chocolate and coffee out, probably drop soy too. That stabilized me, but didn't improve me much. The next improvement came when I started drinking aloe juice first thing in the morning 6oz. I've been doing that for 3+ years now. I'm not all better by any means, but I'm stable.

I kind of wonder if I haven't been gluten intollerant for 15-20 years (45 now) and that I just didn't show any signs until stress triggered the time bomb inside me - and if that is true, then I would suspect that the gut damage is greater than I think, which would in turn explain the long time period in getting my body back together?? Just my ideas. I do go to the Gastro - first visit - tomorrow.

It's really an odd change to spend the bulk of your life trying to lose weight and then be at a place where you're spending effort to keep or gain weight. I stabilized at 163 and don't move much at all. I get real concerned when I dip under 160 because for me, there is not much reserve left at that weight. Bob

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
