We drove to NY for a mini R&R vacation. I shopped at the feel-rite stores , tops, & Wegman's.... it was exciting for me to find so many stores with gluten-free goodies --- all fairly close together....

But the best part was having supper at the Pizza Plant. This was only my second time to have Pizza out....The pizza was very good & enough for two meals for me. The whole experience was terrific... It was worth the trip just to have a good pizza ....

My other pizza out experience was in Doylestown, Pa at Jules. It was very good also. Pizza Plant beat Jules on price ..... & NY is 3 1/2 hours closer for me!!!!

If you get a chance to eat at either --- by all means try it...

Pizza was my favorite food in my past but having been diagnosed since Oct 2004 I have not been brave enough to have gluten-free pizza out in a resturant yet. I do buy the frozen glutino pizzas though.

which part in NY were you in?

Wegmans is wonderful! Ours just opened about a month ago. Before that we drove to Scranton to shop there.

Where in NY is the Pizza Plant? I live in NY, north of NYC....always on the lookout for new gluten-free dining-out options!

Pizza plant is on Transit Road, Williamsville NY. Around the Buffalo area..( gluten-free only on Wed.)

I shop at Wegman's in Erie, Pa (About 1hr& 15 min from my home) I did shop at Wegman's in NY. They also have a Feel-Rite Store also. It's amazing what you can find gluten-free in different parts of the states. My only wish is to be able to do one-stop gluten-free shopping!!!!

The pizza was even good the next day!!!

Cool thanks for sharing. One-stop gluten free shopping would be great. I have that pretty much when I go to Weggies since all of their brand products are also coded gluten free but some things I still need to venture else where for.

      Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

      What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
