Good evening,

In addition to our cruise, we have a few days in to kill. We will be spending time in Ft. Lauderdale before our cruise, and Orlando after. Besides Disney, can anyone offer up suggestions for keeping me gluten-free on our trip?

Thanks in advance,

R

We vacationed in Orlando this past summer. Had excellent experiences at NBA City and Margaritaville, both restaurant's at Universal's City Walk. The head chef (Dan) at Margaritaville actually called me in response to my e-mail inquiry. He asked when we were coming and any special items we would like to eat (this was for my son). When we confirmed the date of when we would eat there, Dan made special arrangements to have gluten-free bread for a cheeseburger and even a gluten-free brownie for a giant hot fudge sundae. Awesome!

There's an Outback and PF Changs in Orlando. Check their websites for exact location. The safest place I found to eat outside of the Disney parks was in Downtown Disney (free parking). We enjoyed many, many lunches and dinners at the Portabello Yacht Club. Their food is amazing and they have gluten free pasta (Tinkyada) right on site!!! Call ahead if you want pasta to make sure they have some. I'm relatively sensitive and we ate there probably 8 times without me getting sick at all. Its a bit pricey for dinner, but its worth it for the piece of mind. I felt really safe there. We also ate breakfast at *shudder* McDonalds and I didn't get sick. Most of the places in the Disney area were knowledgeable about allergies/intolerances and went out of their way to help. We also ate at the Dixie Stampede in Orlando with no problems.

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
