i finally went to a naturopathic doctor and he is gonna be testing me for EVERYTHING...comprehensive stool test, saliva, blood. my biggest fear is that I will have to cut out other foods. As it stands I already have to cut out gluten and dairy, but if I have to cut out even more i really don't know how i will be able to live a normal life and not be completely miserable. My true passion in life has always been food and cooking and throwing dinner parties for my friends...if i cant do that anymore then whats the point? I'm Sorry but a life of eating rice, tuna and carrots aint gonna cut it- if it comes to that i'm just gonna say F%!@ it and eat whatever the hell i want and if i get a disease and die so be it, right?

Are you not improving on a gluten-free casein-free diet? Is that why he wants to order tests?

Seems to me you might be able to figure out any other food problems by doing a simple elimination diet--did your doctor suggest that yet? Of course, that's $1000 that stays in your pocket, not his.

i've only been on a gluten-free diet for a week - no he's doing a comprehensive digestive panel, blood chemistry, hormones and food allergies

Once you are on the gluten-free diet, the blood-tests for gluten will not be accurate....

No i was already diagnosed with increased gluten sensitivity- the tests are for other things

If you have been gluten free for only a week you may want to consider giving the diet a couple of months before any more testing. It does take some time to heal. You may find all your problems have resolved and no more testing is needed.

Keep in mind, too, that often "other" sensitivies are caused by something else going on, so just because you may have to cut out more things NOW doesn't mean it will be for life. I was down to just a handful of foods I could eat safely, but finding out some of the issues that were causing my symptoms (that didn't clear up after a year on the gluten-casein free diet), has let my body begin to do what it's supposed to and I can now eat a few more foods. Still can't eat just anything, but slowly but surely I'm able to add something here and there.

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
