Roommate Rant #2, Enough Is Enough..!

Hey guys. I'm sure you remember my post about my roommate making me sick and causing me panic/asthma attacks by leaving crumbs everyone or trying to get me to touch garbage bags, etc that had some form of gluten on/near them??? Well I gave her heck about that, but nowwww I've had enough. I'm officially searching for someone else. <_<

She always checks the mail before me because she leaves sooner than I do. Well I didn't even know that a TV/internet bill came in. Know where she hid it?? under my microwave...didn't tell me it came or nothing. So today our internet/TV was cut off from not being paid and she had a hissy fit that it's all my fault and it's under my name so it's my job to open it/read it. Yeah sure because when it's hidden that's really possible, right? . ALSO it was her idea "Oh we'll just pay one month at a time, not the 2 like they want"...her fault there too.

My mom is angrier than me. You've probably already learned how she is from my rants about the family. She's not afraid to tell you anything and usually means it too. Well mom said to me, and was being VERY serious about it "Come spring time, if you don't tell her to get out I will!!!". And I know she would too.

SOOO for now, I'm going to call the stupid tv/internet company and say figure out my share for whatever I owe (i think it'll be up til january?) and i'll charge it to credit card...AND apparently our damage deposit isn't paid yet so what I'm going to do is pay it all myself, then I can rightfully claim the apartment to myself and it should be less hassle to give her the boot.

if you have any suggestions PLEASE help me out here!!

Are both of your names on the lease, or is it your place and she's renting room? Do you have the option of living alone? Most people with roommates have these types of issues, unfortunately....

I'm sorry this is so much trouble for you. My bit of advice would be NOT to have your name on the lease/phone/cable whatever. That way you aren't responsible for irresponsible roommates.

OK so she just started freaking out on me that I don't do my s*** and it has to stop. She then threatened me...and said she's going to call my mom. HA i wonder if she did, my mom would have snapped...then she says if things don't improve NOW shes out of here. WOW would that be a blessing...So enough is enough. I'm definitely phoning landlord this weekend and saying: either she goes or i do.

PS: the lease in this place is month-by-month..

I'm sorry you have to deal with all this. Seriously - hiding a bill so she can blame you??? That's messed up. And the month-to-month lease is fantastic for you. I'd consider moving out at the end of November if I were you :) I've had really bad roommates in the past before and they added so much additional stress to my life and made it so that home wasn't at all a relaxing place. I now live alone and will never go back. Good luck.

O-M-G i can't take this...

My mom just phoned me yelling at me. My roommate did call her and instead of mom sticking up for me, she believed what my roommate said that I do nothing, never empty trash or take or garbage, anything. Now mom is blaming ME that things are bad and says I'm not allowed to move out???

Is ANYBODY on my side??? :( *CRIES*

Do you need your mom's permission to move out? If you're on a month to month lease, you can easily leave whenever you want, so.....I'd recommend getting out of there :) Not to sound cheesy....but you need to be on your own side...empower yourself to take action and find a better situation for yourself.

Oh Lisa, I'm so sorry that this is so hard for you. Someday soon you'll be done with school and done with needing support from your parents. Hang on till then and remember that everyone here is on your side.

Oh, I didn't know that part. I'd still work on getting out of there though. I've had my share of roommate drama and it's never worth it. Everything gets really blown out of proportion when you're in the middle of a situation like that. It's best to move out or just find a way to distance yourself from the drama.

So last night she gave me this huge apology, saying her mom made her mad and she took it out on me and she won't do it again blah blah. I don't completely buy it though. If it was just taking anger out of me she wouldn't go calling my mom and yelling at her. I trust her just as little...

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
