The Cheese From Kraft Mac & Cheese

Is the powdered cheese gluten free from Kraft Mac & Cheese? I'm hoping it is so that I can use that with gluten free pasta when I am in a pinch. It would be great on the go when I don't have access to a freezer! Also, what about the goopy Kraft cheese that comes in the foil pouch for the Kraft Deluxe and the Velveeta mac & cheeses in a box.

I have read on this forum that the cheese packet is gluten free. You can also buy a can of just the cheese. It is actually marketed as a popcorn topper, but tastes just like the stuff in the packet. It is a tiny can, but I bought it at WalMart for around $1.50. Hope this helps.

I'm looking at a box of Mac & Cheese Dinner "The Cheesiest" Original Flavor. And a can of Mac & Cheese Cheese Topping "The Cheesiest" Shake On popcorn.

Your right Steph, it taste the same 'cause the ingredients are exactly identical ! I didn't realize that fact until your post, so thank you for mentioning it :D. I use it on popcorn all the time. Plus, I only pop 1/2 to 2/3 of the bag of extra butter microwave popcorn so it will be extra flavorful.

best regards, lm

p.s., The packet weighs 1

It is the same stuff from Kraft, but you don't run the risk of CC by opening one of those packets that sits inside a box of gluten. I bought some a few months ago, and I am not even half way through it!

We use the Kraft cheese packets in the mac & cheese frequently with no problems. My son loves it.

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
