I like it for the most part. I think Ryan (isn't that his name?) can be a little over dramatic at times though. I bet that the production company has them play up a lot of that stuff for TV though. I actually run my own paranormal group and I know a lot of groups don't like the show, but I find it entertaining.

melrobsings Contributor

oh my goodness! I'm a psychic for a living! What do you do with your paranormal group?

Yes, I think Ryan is a 2 act play sometimes and they play up stuff.

Why are other groups not liking the show? I think we all can take something from it, weather you are a believe or not.

My group is the Open Original Shared Link, we do investigations and research in and around Northern Utah. We have an investigation scheduled for this Saturday. It's such a blast! From things I've read on various paranormal message boards is they don't think that they do very scientific investigations, and that everything they do seems to be demon related. I don't know, I like the show. It's not as good as Ghost Hunters, but it's good in its own way. But I like everything paranormal, lol.

Have yall ever watched American Haunting?? That is a great show if you want to get freaked out! It is on Discovery or Discovery Health. I love it!

melrobsings Contributor

I have seen both those shows! Have yall seen A Haunting? I think it's A&E as well....SCARY!!!

Yes, I do find it odd that all of them are demonds but I love that they show how easy it is to get ride of them and ESPECIALLY how addictive EVP is. I do think all of these shows are great learning tools to some extent.

I also love watching Psychic Investigation. I really want to get into more crime work but it's not easy in NYC to get into it. Morrisun, do you guys have a web site? What's the most exciting thing you have found?

Yeah we do it's Open Original Shared Link We don't have much of our evidence up right now. We had some member issues and decided to make a fresh start in 2008. The most interesting thing we have found so far was probably at Fort Bridger, WY. We didn't catch it on video though. We were in the officers quarters and we all heard footsteps upstairs, however there was no one up there.

You guys have a GREAT website! Let me know if you ever come to the NYC area! :)

I spent a night on the Queen Mary about 9 years ago. I can't TELL YOU how many ghosts we ran into!! I thought "oh there can't be THIS many on here"...WRONG! I found 2 kids, on was turning a door knob and the other was around the pool area. Those were the only ones I could really get a good grip on. I ran into others but was freaked out cause it was night! I'm still scared of the dark!

There is a ghost in my dance studio and he loves to play with the studio dog in the theatre area of the building.

I have also been to the Whalie (i butchered that spelling) House in San Diego and found a dog there. Also smelt a womans scent and cigars.

I should look to see is there is an NYC group....

Thanks for the compliment on the site, I try really hard. It's funny 'cause I've been this close to both the Whaley House and the Queen Mary and I've never been inside either!!! LOL

I'd love to make it back to the East coast to investigate. I have family in Maryland and have been to a lot of the haunted locations in the Maryland/Pennsylvania area but I've never investigated. I'm sure New York has a ton of places! I actually know of a guy who was in a group in New York, I'll see if I can find the name for you. I think it is Open Original Shared Link.

That was a Central NY site, I'm in the city. I would love to know the name of the site if it's not the one you already shared!

The Queen Mary was really cool but I do say stay the night, it's really cool and fun. I worked on cruise ships for 3 years and let me tell you we had a nice cabin on the QM but it was A SHOE BOX compared to my crew cabins on ships! I didn't see anything at night on the QM, during broad daylight I did see things.

There is a TON of stuff to find in MD and PA!!! We drove through Gettisburgh and some other huge civil war town. I didn't like what I felt and I just told my mom, I don't like this, can we leave? We didn't stay long and I was glad. It felt like a ghost town and just "not right" you know?

I did find a paranormal group through meetup.com and I'm going to one of their meeting is mid Feb...I just hope it's not all those wanna be psychic freaks and it's people who are ACTUALLY INTERESTED in FINDING information! You know the type I'm talking about? They are like vampires and they suck the energy out of you cause they are just trying too hard!

There is a small pock hospital on a little island between queens and manhattan called Randals Island. It's closed and gated off but you are able to get through and to it. My friends have been during the day and said it's REALLY cool just to see it. It's mostly ruins now but I am going to make a trip out there once the weather get better...so like...June?! lol

Thanks! I know what you mean about Gettysburg, it just has a totally different feel to it, and I'm so not sensitive at all! I sent an email to the guy and asked him if he knows of any groups in NYC, so I'll let you know. :)

He said he's sorry, that the only one he knows of is that one I already posted. But here is one I found, you might want to check them out.

It's nice to see the paranormal come up everywhere.

That is a very nice site Morrisun. Do you have much experience when it comes to photographs (and authentication/explanation of)? Or does one of your colleagues?

Melrobsings ... I think free readings for all your forum friends are in order! ;)

Definitely share similar feelings for Ryan and Paranormal State. I think most of what he says about his experiences are pretty much true, just embellished and exaggerated. I really love the show too though. My two favorites so far involve the young boy who picks out the dead teenager he claims to see from a photograph and the episode about the younger girl who has a female ghost visitor (she saw the bruises on the spirit's neck).

If you guys like to listen to podcasts or shows on your ipod/mp3 player, check out our blog and show at

Open Original Shared Link It is professionally produced, so sounds very good. The blog has consistant entries of recent topics and events. It covers all things paranormal!

Thanks Rocco!

I have a little bit of experience, mostly with EXIF data. A guy in our group is pretty good at it though. He's our major photo debunker/analyzer.

I'll have to go check your site, looks interesting! Let me know if you want to exchange links!

Thank you for the clarification and for taking the time to explain the terminology so clearly. I really appreciate your insight, especially the distinction between celiac disease and NCGS and how anemia can point more toward celiac. This was very helpful for me.

Hi,  My 7 year daughter has complained of this in the past, which I thought were part of her glutening symptom, but more recently I have come to figure out it's part of her histamine overload symptom. This one symptom was part of her broader profile, which included irritability, extreme hunger, confusion, post-nasal drip. You might want to look up "histamine intolerance". I wish I had known of this at the time of her diagnosis, life would have been much easier.  I hope you are able to figure out.

My 5yo was diagnosed with celiac last year by being tested after his sister was diagnosed. We are very strict on the gluten-free diet, but unsure what his reactions are as he was diagnosed without many symptoms other than low ferritin.  He had a school party where his teacher made gluten-free gingerbread men. I almost said no because she made it in her kitchen but I thought it would be ok.  Next day and for a few after his behavior is awful. Hitting, rude, disrespectful. Mainly he kept saying his legs were shaking. Is this a gluten exposure symptom that anyone else gets? Also the bad behavior?

Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified Gluten" in any given batch run. It just means there could be.

I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.
