Looking For Cookbook

Hi All,

I am new to posting, but I have had Celiac for 29 years. All my life. I had a cookbook, rather my mom had a cookbook when I was a baby, and she has "misplaced" it. I don't know the name, or the author. I recall it was paperback, thin, and either blue or green on the outside.

She told me that she got it when I was a baby, so it is at least 29-30 years old. Mid 1970's. I have looked all over the internet and amazon, and I am coming up empty.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this, or think they can find it?

Thank you

Kristy

hi . im not sure what book you are decribing . but a thought . I have collected old cook books early 1950's 60's mostly . I find alot in stores that say they sell antiques or garage sells is another place . even the salvation army sells alot of older good books. I guess most like the newer add a mix of this or that type. lol I have always prefered the older from scratch ones and now going gluten-free find that they have some amazing recipes so easy to adapt to the rice flours or already have potatoes or flour as its main ingred.

I really hope this helps and that you can find some that meet your needs or a replacement . good luck hunting is part of the fun . :D rosie

This is why I bought a cookbook binder. When I find a great gluten-free recipe, I'm putting a copy in 2 handmade cookbooks for my kids.

Can you think of any words from the title? When I'm out and about I'll look for it.

hi after thinking on this, I realize alot of the paper back type ,and thin cookbooks are usually from an appliance , or a new product ,an example is bisquick I have several of theirs and cool whip and baking powder and coconut some are just pages others are 70 or more pages , and even today mixers will include their cook books for using with their appliance.

I bet this was what it was , when you say it was paper back. I had one from sunbeam mixer loved in and lost it , unable to replace .Still never came across one.

I hope this might help you narrow your search .

gl rosie :D

After waisted time of new care team, yet again EXHAUSTED saw new gi today in Modesto, though all my ailments im not getting any kind of concern of me being celiac and sentive to just about everything since menopause. Dr daid why don't I go see you guys because my blood shows zero for celiac. I told him im glutenfree since 1994 by colonoscopy with biopsy positive celiac sprue by GI.Its RIDICULOUS when im bringing in material from this site of knowledge as well as the autoimmune institute, and  there's zero interest on their part.Medical IS causing me depression.Im view as a disability chaser, IM STILL RECOVERING from being a bus driver that im still healing and having more issues, now I may have multiple sclerosis or meningioma. Ive reached out, wrote letters, NOT feeling well. This is inhumane.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.
