Lots of things can cause hemorrhoids, so I'm not sure what triggered yours. It does sound like the start of one. The best thing that I have found is to get yourself a sitz bath. They sell them at drugstores, and they don't usually cost a lot of money. You put it in the toilet seat, fill the plastic bag with hot water, and sit and soak for a while. Combine this with a good topical cream, and your problem should clear up in a couple of days.

Funny you should mention it, because, well....me too  like...right now...for the first time in ages  I'm not one to usually have bathroom problems. I've had hemorrhoids occassionally way in the past, but it's been a long time. It would usually happen at the start of my time of the month (just like now) and would be accompanied by looser stools. Sorry, I know this probably doesn't help you any, but I can sympathize! :P

constipation and other excessive bowel movements will aggravate them

there are ways to calm them down (Calmol 4 suppositories -the best of these products, Balneol lotion - expensive but worth it - it's a perianal cleanser as you can sting from using soap, sitz bath) but they won't go away on their own.

Most of the time a doctor, called a Protologist, can "tie" them off in one visit (no anesthesia needed - just a little pre-visit prepping). Sometimes they can get really bad and you can have "fissures" along with the hemorrhoids and these need to be repaired with surgery/anesthesia, unfortunately.

After this procedure your Hemorhoids will be gone, however, new ones may emerge later on (months/years later, depending on your own body).

The above has been my experience with them over the past 15 years. I had both of those procedures (at a same day surgery place) and been ok since, with one new hemorrhoid as I got older. I was very glad I had this procedure done as I was suffering for years, then got the fissure and that thing never stopped bleeding during bowel movements no matter how many sitz baths I did.

Yes. Get rid of the D and most likely it will go away. When I occasionally get D, I immediately take two Immodium AD's (or Walmarts brand). Followed by one after every meal, until I'm back to normal. Be careful not to overdo it, or as Debmidge said the C will definately aggravate it.

True that treating them will make them "calm" down but they will not be reabsorbed by the body - they'll shrink but they'll always be there to be irritated. If you are doing all the "calming" down methods and you stopped having diarrhea and it's been let's say about 6-8 weeks and you are still seeing blood or burning/itching then you probably still have an active hemorrhoid that isn't "calming" down.

In my experience, I did that routine (ate fiber, used the suppositories, sitz, etc.) and still had problems. Getting them fixed is less pain than going to the dentist so don't be afraid to do it if you need to. It's usually done right in the doctor's office.

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
