Ore-ida Extra Crispy Fries

Does anyone know if the Ore-Ida site keeps their gluten free list updated?

They do not have the Extra Crispy Seasoned Crinkles or the Extra Crispy Seasoned Tater Tots on their gluten free list. I looked at the ingredients at the store but did not see anything that was gluten in them so I got them.

I've had the EC Seasoned Crinkles before with no problem but tonight I looked at their list to check out the Tater Tots and am now not sure what to do.

Has anyone had any of the fries they carry that are not on the list but the ingredients look safe and not had any problems with them?

Thank you

While I don't know about Ore-Ida in particular, in general I look askance at all seasoned fries. Every single brand of seasoned fries I've seen has wheat in them.

I also avoid any seasoned fries. Was looking at ore-ida products in grocery store yesterday and believe that seasoned fries contained modified food starch which I avoid, can't remember exactly what the ingredients were but I only buy plain fries. You can always cook part way and season yourself for added flavor during remainder of cooking time.

hth

Here's a link to the Ore-Ida gluten free page. I don't know how to make it clickable, but you could copy and paste.

I called Ore-Ida earlier ths year and asked if they had an updated list. They said no. When I asked about products that weren't on the list but appeared to be gluten-free, shae said hold on. After consulting with someone, came back and said stick to the list. No explanation.

According to the newly updated Clan Thompson Food Smartlist - ALL TATER TOT varieties, including the seasoned and extra crispy are gluten free. I've had no problem with them. MOST (but not all) Ore-Ida varieties are gluten-free, exception IS some of the seasoned varieties and of course the onion rings (battered).

Thank you everyone for your posts. I think I will stay away from the tater tots and just give the bag to my in-laws who can eat them.

I did try the Extra Crispy Fast Food Fries that are on the gluten free list and had no problem. They were good. I just want a french fry we can have with hamburgers, hot dogs, and other summer type meals.

Thanks again :)

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
