Sushi Rice A Problem?

I swear I've eaten the sushi rice at my favorite sushi place since my diagnosis and not gotten sick, but they seem to now be insisting that their sushi rice can't be guaranteed to be gluten free -- I can't really get a detailed answer out of them (they use rice vinegar to season it), but I've run into this at a couple of local sushi places and I was wondering what the likelihood was that they might be being over-careful about the rice vinegar.

Has anyone else run into this?

yes you need to be careful about the vinegar used, but if they use rice vinegar, there should be no issue. i know some japanese places use a little bit of soy sauce in their rice too....

isn't it sad that you have to question everything in a sushi roll, which is usually just raw fish, rice and veggies?

Maybe they are just worried about possible cross contamination issues in the kitchen. I would worry more about the nori than the rice.

They could also worry about the phase glutenous rice which is not a problem for us. I've never had a problem with rice vinegar though.

      "Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

      Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
