quick soundbite today from a GIG person (I was in the car so didn't write down the name), radio host promo highlighted 'more and more people are being diagnosed celiac or adopting a gluten-free diet', GIG person mentioned ADD, ADHD, MS, chronic pain, 'auto-immune skin disorders' as examples of people that may be higher risk and/or benefit from a gluten-free diet. Then the radio person said something like 'folks on a gluten-free diet often avoid processed foods and wheat' or something kind of like that.

Anyway, increased awareness is good, right?

Were you listening to 103? We have a man locally who is a radio announcer, his daughter was just recently diagnosed with celiac disease. He has pledged that he will raise awareness for all of us. He has been in touch with our support group, Suffolk County Celiac's and has been very vocal on the radio. I think it's great!!!

pretty sure that it was am 880 WCBS - or it may have been am 1010 WINS.

But that's great news about 103.

My guess is that GIG was doing some press conference or publicity of some sort.

      I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

      Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?

      Thankyou so much for your words.Its a hard battle when a supposed well known hospital whose celiac " specialist " has down played me because my colon looks fine and put it in my medical and so pcp doesn't take seriously. In their eyes we all carry that gene.Im having alot of bad days trying to be positive because of it.
