Reintroducing Dairy

Hi all

I haven't been diagnosed with Coeliacs. My chronic fatigue following a bout of mono is improving steadily but it was improving before I gave up gluten.

I'm trying to reintroduce dairy. I've been gluten free for three months now. I was a bit stupid with it and just tried to reintroduce milk and had diarhoea. I didn't ever have this reaction to dairy and kind of wish I'd never given it up, I think I have just stopped producing lactose.

I can tolerate yoghurt (plain) and parmesan cheese but every time I eat chocolate, milk or cheddar I get diarhoea. Any advice?

Also can I eat greek yogurt? I heard it might be creamier than plain but google isn't very helpful?

well greek yoghurt is creamy and I can tolerate it (and I am not a good example when it comes to intolerances..) Maybe you can just start with yoghurt and also get some milk that has less lactose. "TOTAL" greek yoghurt is great in taste. I guess you can find in your country milk with 70% less lactose (I do find it here from DELTA). Also you can try some lactase tablets to help you at the begining. I read that when you re-introduce lactose you have to do it gradually and try to have a full stomach when eating somthing with lactose.

My tummy doesn't do well with cow's milk, but I'm having good luck with goat's milk yogurt and kefir. :)

I'd give that a try if cow's milk is troubling you.

Thiamax (TTFD) plus a B-complex, and if you want benfotiamine, the Life Extension formula covers that at ~100 mg.

      High fiber can definitely cause sudden GI distress especially if it’s a new addition but accidental gluten exposure can feel similar. Keeping a simple food/symptom log and introducing new gluten-free foods one at a time can really help you spot the pattern.       sorry a bit confused so I should take my B complex along with Objective Nutrients Thiamax for TTFD but what about a Benfotiamine to take. The Life extensions contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine together or im confusing myself. I am trying to see if I take Thiamax what should I take for Benfotiamine. Thanks EDITING after further research I see ones water soluble ones fat soluble. So I guess 100MG as you suggested of Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. and the Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     would work for me.

      I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.
