I saw a commercial tonight for Ingles grocery store on abc that mentioned gluten free muffin mix. I wasn't really paying attention and i think it was showing a man looking for items in the store and it said something like, "Whether you're looking for (it named something i can't remember) or gluten free muffin mix or....... Thought it was pretty neat!

Ingles is awesome! I do my weekly shopping there. I recently saw a gluten-free section in their local sale circular that took up half a page. They also have a registered dietician, Leah, who has personally responded to my emails regarding the status of several of their store products.

Here's the Open Original Shared Link where you can download the store brand gluten-free list. They also have a list for name brand gluten-free products found in their stores.

Regrettably, most people won't know Ingles as they are only in the Deep South and tend to be found in rural areas. Often their store is the only one in town.

Oh wow, that's great! Thanks for the info. and link Janet. I don't have an Ingles in my town but there's one not too far away and i pass by there every now and then so this is great! I'll stop in the next time i'm by there. Before going gluten-free i had bought some of their Laura Lynn brands and they were good. That's great they have a dietician to answer any questions. You're right, the Ingles not far from me is the only grocery store in that town.....I didn't think too many people would have heard of an Ingles. :) Thanks again for the info!

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.

I hope you are on the mend soon. About 1 in 5 people who contracted chicken pox as a child go on to develop shingles in later life - it is not uncommon. There are 5 known members of the herpes virus family including chicken pox that commonly infect humans, and they all cause lifelong infections. The exact cause of viral reactivation as in the case of shingles or cold sores is not well understood, but stress, sunburn and radiotherapy treatment are known triggers. Some of the herpes viruses are implicated in triggering autoimmune diseases: Epstein-Barr virus is suspected of triggering multiple sclerosis and lupus, and there is a case where it is suspected of triggering coeliac disease. As to whether coeliac disease can increase the likelihood of viral reactivation, there have been several cohort studies including a large one in Sweden suggesting that coeliac disease is associated with a moderate increase in the likelihood of developing shingles in people over the age of 50. US 2024 - Increased Risk of Herpes Zoster Infection in Patients with Celiac Disease 50 Years Old and Older Sweden 2018 - Increased risk of herpes zoster in patients with coeliac disease - nationwide cohort study

BFree bread is fortified with vitamins and minerals as is ASDA own-brand gluten-free bread. All the M&S bread seems to be fortified also.
