Looking For A Pen Pal For Daughter

So my son, thanks to this forum, now has a pen pal his own age in Sweden to trade emails and letters with - which is great!

But my 9 year old daughter is sad now that she doesn't have one (any of you with 2 or more children know exactly what I mean ;) )

I looked on line, but I couldn't find anything that I felt "safe" signing up for. I don't suppose anyone has a suggestion on how I can get her a pen pal, or better yet, has a 9(ish) year old girl that would also like a pen pal?

Thanks for any ideas on this.

Gina

Hey I'm sorry you haven't been able to find a penpal yet. I know there are some kids younger than me (I'm 16) on but it may take them a while to see this post. I think your best bet is to try to get in contact with some of the moms around here. I hope this somewhat helps! Just keep on looking! I'll try to look around and help find a penpal for your daughter.

Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it. Another Mom (who has only a son) said she was going to check at her son's school. My kid's are homeschooled, so I'm at a loss there.

Check the 'Parents of' section of the forum, there's probably someone in there!

Hey Gina,

See the little girl in my siggy? That's my daughter and she's 9 1/2 years old. I bet she would love to be a penpal for your daughter. I'll ask her when she gets home. :) Were you looking for letters or email?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
