Sleepy After Eating

I get so sleepy after eating - like coma sleepy. This is not true at breakfast actually. Actually, come t think of it, I get insanely sleepy at some point between 3 and 6 every day. Anyway, I ate carmelized onions and scrambled eggs just now, and now my eyes are shutting and my breathing has gone to sleepytime breathing and I'd love to lie down and nap. Heck..I think I will.

Any thoughts?

Could be food sensitivities or blood sugar issues. I used to get "coma" feelings. Mine was always after eating sugar/fast carbs. Carmelized onions = sugar. That's why they taste so yummy!

Hmmmm, my hubby does that twice a day, I always just thought it was a man thing. :lol:

He's not the one with Celiac Disease.

Seriously, anything with sugar will give you down time, even without Celiac. But things like eggs with high protien should give you a boost instead. That is a puzzle. Maybe just your system telling you that it's time to nap. :)

Onions-- I read --make you sleepy. It does it for me too. I also get sleepy after eating - I think it is from eating large portions or waiting too late to eat or hyperglucemia.

      New labs are now very elevated

      Hello, I was very stick, with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel. Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change? What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?...

      This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to...

      Is Cracker Barrel`s gluten-free menu safe for kids with celiac disease?

      I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
