Hi everyone........

I am an undiagnosed celiac suspect. My indicators include a positive father, and unusual symptoms.

This all started when I did the master cleanse for ten days. I developed a passion for baking while I was on it, and when I completed the cleanse, proceeded to enjoy all these wonderful baked goods.

I wanted to stay on this until I had no desire for cravings anymore, but I ended at 10 days anyway.

A few days after I started eating again post-cleanse, My knee blew up and was so swollen I could hardly walk. I've since been suffering all sorts of joint pain in every place I have joints.

I suffered a severe attack of stress that left me sick for 3 weeks 2 months prior to the cleanse and I was also suffering from intermitant neck pain.

The only bowel affliction I seem to suffer though, is spasms in the area of my right side intestine during elimination, but that is only occasionally.

I have been battling candida for a few years now yo-yo dieting off/on sugar, with no success.

I also have been juicing my own wheatgrass at home for years now. I am not sure if I've had celiac all along, or if the gene has been activated due to the recent bout of stress, or the 10 day cleanse.

I am avoiding gluten now, but not sure what to do about the wheatgrass, I seem to feel better when I have it at least mentally...

I look forward to learning as much as possible here, It's a great resourse!

If anyone has any insight to anything I posted, I'd be grateful to hear what you have to say.

Welcome,

I hope that you are under the care of a professional at this time. What medical consultation or testing have you had?

Hi there Mama Goose, I am not under a Dr's care at all actually. I am uninsured at this time. Elimination diet is free for now. To be honest, I am a bit intimidated to seek medical help anyway. I don't want a biopsy or the medical bills. If this is a matter of what I put in my mouth, and controlled by diet, I'm grateful. Obviously, If my symptoms don't dissapate after going gluten free I will go.

Finding a good Dr is like finding a needle in a haystack though.

I must confess, I am a little nervous not knowing whats going on with me physically

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
