Fluoxetine (generic Prozac) Manufactured By Sandoz

Is anyone on Fluoxetine 20 mg CAPSULES by Sandoz? Are they gluten free? I called Sandoz and they said, "we do not test for gluten but our inactive ingredient suppliers tell us that they do not use wheat, barley, rye or oats in their products"? I just do not want the cross contamination...

I need it to be lactose free as well and they assured me that yes it is lactose free.

If anyone who is taking or has taken this medication can tell me if they have or have had any effects?

I have been trying to find one that will not make me sick!!!

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your Fluoxetine. I haven't taken the 20 mg capsules for awhile now because my doctor has me down to ten mg and its a tablet (my issue is hormonal perimenopause mood swings). The 20mg would make me looser in the a.m. (prozac is usually what they put IBS people whose symptoms are constipation vs diarrhea on because it tends to loosen them up) I've never had a problem with the generic's making me sick gluten wise though. What are your symptoms?

If you've had no problems with Teva and haven't had any changes in your diet otherwise, then your probably right that the new prescription is giving you the problem. I wonder if there is some sort of milk protein in it since Prozac normally loosens thing up? Perhaps a sister drug to prozac such as zoloft, paxil, or lexapro would have a gfdf generic for you? Hope you find an answer soon. Maybe someone else has some experience as well.
