Rice-free Flour?

I want to make a cake for my son for his birthday next week and I want to make it gluten-free so I can eat it too. It would mean a lot to me. But I can't tolerate rice. Does anyone know of a good flour mix that doesn't contain rice or gluten? Soy, corn, sorghum, and potato are A-okay.

Thanks in advance!

Robyn Ryberg has a cookbook called "The Gluten Free Kitchen", in which she uses only cornstarch and potato starch as the "flour". It's available in paperback, and I highly recommend it. The pizza dough recipe alone is worth the price of admission ;)

If you can't find it, PM me and I'll send you a couple cake recipes from the book in time for your son's birthday :D

I have succesfully taken every recipe that calls for brown rice flour and used sorghum instead.

I switched from rice to sorghum, its so much better and alot like wheat minus the gluten...great for baked goodies.

I also use sorghum flour in every recipe that calls for rice flour.

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
