Blood Tests? Endoscopy? Insurance? Drinking Alcohol?

I have a few questions if anyone has time to answer.

1. Are my tests conclusive?

2. Should I do an endoscopy?

3. What are the insurance ramifications of a Celiac diagnosis?

4. Does alcohol cause an episode? I drink mostly wine, and thought that was safe, but drinking seems to bring on an episode of diarrhea.

Here's my history:

My doc did a Celiac bloodtest at my request, because I have had mysterious diarrhea for the past couple years. It had seemed to be food related, but symptoms have been intermittent. I originally thought it was Giardia, since I had a friend with it a couple years ago...we both had symptoms back then , and I went on a few courses of Flagyl and was "cured" then after a year with no symptoms I went to Vegas and over did the booze, and the diarrhea came back!

So my test results are:

Gliadin Ab IgA: >100

Gliadin Ab IgG: 21

Now my doc wants me to go for a consult with a GI. I am wondering if I have to do an endoscopy or should I just try Gluten free for awhile? I am concerned about getting health insurance in the future if I get a definitive Celiac Diagnosis....I think if I am just Gluten intolerant I don't have to say anything on my future insurance applications....

Has anyone else had issues after drinking?

THANKS!

They only did those two tests? They didn't to TTG? TTG is the autoimmune component of the blood work.

If your happy just being gluten-free then skip the biopsy.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
