What Tests Are For Sensitivity, Or Is It Just Celiac Disease?

Hello, just thought I would post a question here, I have been doing very well on the gluten free diet, but I was wondering, are there tests for gluten sensitivity, or just celiac disease? what is the difference? I had blood work done in the past, came back negative for celiacs, but I have been doing so much better avoiding gluten, that I was just wondering about the difference...thanks

Some here consider 'gluten sensitivity' to be simply a different presentation or the early stages of full blown celiac. I am one of those mainly because I went through a lot of different systems that were affected. I was clearly 'celiac' from childhood but didn't get the gut effects till I was about 30. Until then my presentation was most skin (DH) and neuro although I did experience some growth stunting.

I don't know how long you have been gluten free but if it was under a year Enterolab might still be able to pick up the antibodies. They can also do a gene panel. There are a lot of false negatives on blood testing although the TtG is better than the tests they used on me. The NIH gave an estimate of up to 30% for false negatives.

I am glad to hear the diet is helping, that is the truest 'test' of all.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
