Just found out that several of the zpizzas near me (South Riding and Haymarket) offer gluten-free pizza!!! :D I am so excited - cannot wait to try it! I used to love their pizza before going gluten-free. I'm sure some of the other locations also offer it -- those are the only two that I checked on though.

They started serving gluten-free pizza down here in Raleigh about a month or so ago. I thought it was great!!! And they are VERY careful about contamination. Hope you get to give it a try soon!

I had it at the Duke Street location in Alexandria! To me, it's much better than the gluten-free pizza at Uno, which I did not care for at all. The only thing that could use some help is their sauce, which I find to be a bit bland. I like a nice zesty sauce. Several of the salad dressings are gluten-free as well so I will definitely be going back!

We just tried the Raleigh location tonight. It was pretty good, okay, I lied, it was damn good for not having to make pizza! I was a little bummed because they burnt the crust on mine and while trying to figure out why the online ordering didn't charge my card correctly (the additional $3 for each gluten-free crust) the pizza sat for ten minutes getting cold. Then I had another ten minute drive back to my house. The kids didn't care though, they devoured it! We're definitely going to try it again.

That sucks they burned your crust! But, I felt the same way when I had it. I loved their pizza before gluten-free, so I was really excited when I found out they were doing gluten-free. The crust is the best that I've had of the others I've tried (Uno's, Lily's, and I've only had Bella Monica frozen, but thought it was better than that too) so far.

Not to be a downer :( but my partner and I tried the gluten free pizza at Zpizza in Foothill Ranch, CA and were sorely disappointed. I tried the mozarella with sausage and he had the soy cheese with pepperoni. Not very good, expensive, small. (Only available personal size.) I rather preferred the frozen Glutino brand spinach/feta (I believe) - cheaper, better tasting, and just about the same size. I'd say everyone should at least try as it's probably a matter of taste but this did not work for us at all.

It was very expensive - but I thought well worth it! I had the Provence -- was very tasty!! My daughter had the sausage and cheese and she loved it. My non-Celiac husband and non-Celiac oldest daughter split a large (half ZBQ/half pepperoni). Our bill was almost $40!! No drinks or anything else -- 40 bucks!!! :o Yikes! For that reason alone, we won't be doing this very often - but loved the taste. We picked it up and brought it home -- and was much better reheated, than just straight out of the pizza box.

We had never been there before, but I can see how it would have been a popular choice. We still haven't tried Lily's since it's downtown and we're just not in that area very often. Uno's is good, but I wish they'd offer more toppings. We'll definitely go back to Zpizza! It's also closer to our house than any of the other options. Thanks for the recommendation!

Oh, we did try Bella Monica's frozen pizza recently. I'd have to say it's the best of any frozen I've had. Thanks for that recommendation too!

Ours was very expensive too. I was kind of shocked by the price! I believe it's $10 for each 10" pizza and then an additional $3 for the gluten-free crust. Our whole family is gluten-free so that adds up!

While I was thrilled to discover ZPizza offers a gluten free crust, the price is RIDICULOUS in Southern California. I got a personal 10 inch pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms with an iced tea and it was SEVENTEEN DOLLARS!!! Seventeen dollars for a personal pizza and a tea. That's worse than buying in an airport. They have a $4.25 surcharge for gluten free crust here in So Cal and it's not posted anywhere in the place. A TOTAL RIP OFF. A for effort, F for price.

It's $3 bucks here in NC, I was surprised too. Everywhere else has the same pricing across the board. I think it's probably because they don't make it there, as opposed to the other places (I'm speaking locally based on my experience), and it is ordered from Domata Living Flour. Having said that, I do wonder sometimes if companies do stuff like that because they know we'll pay for it.

Maybe if enough of us band together and complain about the price, they'll do something.

Oh this is awesome! There's one right down the street. I've never tried them, but you can bet I will!!!

[update] And I see we are in their delivery radius!!!!

[update] I just called and they are OUT of gluten-free crust until sometime next week. That's less than useful.

Yeah, the pizza is kinda pricey. I can't remember how much my total was, but I know once I added the price for the topping, gluten-free crust, delivery, AND salad, my bill was pretty high.

Restaurants.com has gift certificates on sale pretty often (usually a $25 gift certificates cost $10.). I got a few $10 gift certificates yesterday for 90 cents each. That will definitely help with my zPizza bill!

I sent them an email thanking them profusely for their considerations for us, blah blah blah. And put in there that the price was a bit steep, especially when you take into account that many families are gluten free and it would thus be cost prohibitive for them to eat out.

They did respond and say that they valued customer feedback and would pass it along, and all that fun stuff. Maybe it will help, I don't know. But, I did also mention that it wasn't advertised at being $3 extra, so it maybe wouldn't be so bad if they would let people know in advance before getting to the register and finding a pizza of that size to be upwards of $15 was a little steep. Things like are always taken better if they're not hidden.

Anyway, thought I'd let you know it'd be worth a shot emailing them.

Good thinking! I will do the same! If we all did -- maybe they'd rethink the prices just a bit! Wishful thinking I know -- but it's worth a shot!

There is also a survey you can fill out for a $5 coupon. However, it doesn't have a place for customer comments (I was planning on saying something about the price and how it wasn't advertised). I think I will try to email them as well. I do appreciate their effort, and I know I will go back, but for the same price I could go to Uno's and get three adult meals, all gluten-free, including one personal pizza, which is much larger.

I tried out Z Pizza and I have to say I was disappointed. It was quite pricey, rather small, and too thin. It couldn't hold it's toppings. I've found several other places around me to serve better gluten-free pizza. I did see however their is a Pizza Fusion in Glen Allen, VA. You should check them out; their pizza is better.

Thanks for the tip! I looked at Pizza Fusion's website (great sounding company!) but the only location they have in VA right now is in Richmond, which is unfortunately about 3 hours away. :( Hopefully they'll be opening more closer to me!

I finally got to try ZPizza last night. I got home late so I had to warm up the pizza (probably not a fair comparison). I liked it at least as well as the Uno's gluten-free pizza. The nice thing about ZPizza is that they do multiple toppings on the pizza. At Uno's, it's either pepperoni or cheese. No black olives or any *FRESH* ingredients like green peppers or onions.

A tip on reheating -- everyone probably already knows this but anyway -- I like to reheat pizza in a frying pan, especially Zpizza pizza because their crust is so nice and thin. It comes out so light and crispy, better I think even than fresh out of their oven, since they use a special gluten-free pan and the pizza doesn't get to actually touch the pizza oven to get nice and crispy!

      Thanks for your response.  Everything you mentioned he is and has been doing.  Tobacco is not the same as nicotine.  Nicotine, in the form of a patch, does not cause gastrointestinal irritation.  Smoking does. He is not smoking.  Please do your research before stating false information. Dr. Paul Newhouse has been doing research on nicotine the last 40 years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

      Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have.It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.

      @Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.

      Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system
