Rice Dream Rice Milk

Has anyone had problems with the Rice Dream Rice Milk? I recently had this product and it made me feel sick. Their website lists the product as gluten free but they do use barley in it which they say they remove during processing. When we contacted the company, they also said their product was gluten free.

Just wondered if anyone else has reacted to their rice milk? Thank you.

Yes, I would highly recommend you don't use it.

From what I understand it has traces of gluten in it, so not safe.

Thank you for confirming what I thought was true!

Some one else mentioned to me that Rice Dream supplies Trader Joes with their rice milk. Has any one heard of this? I use Trader Joes all the time and have never had a reaction and it tastes totally different than the Rice Dream Rice Milk.

First time I have heard that. I tried that in place of Rice Dream, it tasted different and didn't bother me, but I am enjoying more coconut milk and almond milk lately. I guess called Trader Joes would be the best idea to find out about that. If you do, please let us know. I am curious. ;)

I had problems with rice dream too...

Soy milk isn't working out great for me either....

I guess u need to try another milk...

      It's strange because I'm pretty sure not too long ago I picked up a loaf of bread with B vitamins, but I can't find a single one now.  Probably cutbacks, everyone's trying to save money now!

      Eating grains typically depletes certain B vitamins, so I'm not sure why they decided to fortify with calcium and iron, but hopefully we'll see more B vitamin fortification in gluten-free products going forward.

      @HAUS, I was at an event in the UK a few years back. I remember ringing the restaurant ahead to inquire about the gluten free options. All I wanted was a few gluten free sandwiches, which they provided and they were delicious. The gluten-free bread they used was Warbutons white bread and I remember mentioning it on this site before. No harm in trying it once. It's fortified with Calcium and Iron. https://www.warburtonsglutenfree.com/warbs_products/white-loaf/ The only other gluten-free bread that I've come across that is fortified is Schar with Iodized salt, nothing else.
