What are your favorite homemade treatments for hair, face, nails, feet.... etc.

Any ideas for making a spa at home to destress and beautify?

Well, I wanted to learn French Manicures so I studied up and when I have had a stressful time, I sit and give myself one. It takes awhile and is calm and quiet. I also got books and videos for my boyfriend to learn better massage techniques.

I found a book yesterday called 'Spa Magic' by Mary Muryn. This book is full of spa reciepes, almost all would be safe for us. There is everything from Masks and moisturizers to Salt Scrubs to Bath preperations. Most ohave ingedients that most will have on hand or can easily be found. It also includes lists of essential oils and their benefits.

Thanks Ravenwoodglass!

My next stop will be Amazon to check out this book. When I started this thread I had visions of natural home-made concoctions like camomile hair rinse, raspberry exfoliating scrubs or citric acid bath bombs. This book looks promising.

Sometimes when you get glutened or have a stressful day, a little self-pampering can go an awfully long way :)

I like the massage idea too! French manicuring sounds a little advanced for me. I bet it took awhile to learn.

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
