I just had to share this. I went to an Outback restaurant and they actually had a gluten-free menu. I had shrimp, salad, garlic mashed potato's, steak and topped it off with a gluten-free brownie with ice cream, whipping cream and choc. sauce. I felt like a kid at Christmas. It's the first time I have been able to go somewhere and order from a gluten-free menu and not stress about either ordering the wrong food or something touching my food etc.

It was just wonderful! :D

WOW what Outback did you go to!!!!! Any of the ones by me, dont have any dessert for me. I would love to try the gluten-free brownie w/ icecream. At what location was the one that you when to?

The one I went to was in Chico, California. I dreamed about that brownie last night and can still taste it. They had a gluten-free menu and list it on there as made without flour and safe to eat. They didn't have this brownie on the regular menu, I looked. I had told the waiter that I heard they had gluten-free food and he said they had recipe cards and he would check, then he came back with a menu! Neeless to say he got a big tip. It was just so neat not to have to pick and choose, and not worry that something was going to get in my food. I'm telling you I was like a kid at Christmas! I haven't had that experience since I found out about the celiac. The one I went to is about 2 1/2 hours away from me, so I probably won't go there much but I will go back.

Ask them about a different menu, this was hard plastic so I think they must have them in all of their restaurants. I don't think they leave them on the table though, I think he must of gotten this from the kitchen. The waiter was even excited because I was so excited. I e-mailed outback and tol them how wonderful I thought it was. I hope more restaurants do that.

I am so glad that you had a wonderful experience there. But i have been to several around me here in New York, and none of them have any brownies. But I am pretty lucky because there are a couple of restaurants and some of them have dessert.......the only dessert that I have had was Cheese cake, and it was good, but nothing like I used to eat (my grandmas). :)

Every Outback I've been to has the brownie. It's a standard part of their national me4nu and it's gluten-free at every Outback. It's not called a brownie in the title but Chocolate Thunder from Down Under.

If you go to the Outback web site and click on the menu, it will tell you to put in a city and state and then it will show the menu for a specific location. You can make sure that location carries it.

Yes Richard you are right, it's called Chocolate Thunder from Down Under. But boy was it good! :D I am still thinking about it.......

I think that cheescake sounds great also. I saw a recipe to make one using pamelas cookies but I haven't tried it yet.

      Normal vitamin D range us from 20 ng/ml to 100 ng/ml.  200 nmol/L is the same as 80ng/ml. Minimum vitamin D is based soley on preventing Rickets and osteomyelitis.  Othe research is considered irrelevant insufficnet proof.   My 25(OH)D level is just over 80 ng/dl.  It took 8 years of 10,000 IU a day to get here because Celiac Disease causes low D.  In 1952 the UK banned all vitamin D supplementation due to a error.  Most of the world followed suit.  In the western world vitamin D deficiency ranges from 40% of the US to 60% in the UK. If you had an office with workspace for 30 to 100 workers, but you were restricted to less than 50 workers, how well would the office run.? A factory worker has 40 ng/ml,  A lifeguard has around 80.  Who's immune system works better?       Welcome to the forum, @Mpanknin! Questions like that really have no definite answer. Even if you tested a container of it for gluten content, the test results would only be good for that production batch. Assume it has some degree of CC. A more important question might be, how sensitive are you to minor amounts of gluten exposure?

      I have Celiac, and I just found out that HCTZ has gluten in it, and also makes you severely constipated versus diarrrhea!!  I need another medicene for blood pressure that is certified gluten free, without the 20 ppm, and doesn't cause constipation, please!!

      Thanks Wheatwacked. My D is normal. I take B12, B6, and a bone health supplement (I'm 67) that has K1, Calcium, Magnesium, and a bunch of other things. But no thiamine. But I will have my doc add it to my next blood draw. Thanks for the info WW!

      Wondering if this is gluten free or not. The only ingredients show garlic. Nothing about where it's processed if there's cross-contamination etc. Anybody know?
