Is it neccessary for me to call the company of the papertowels I use to find out if they are gluten-free, or do papertowels even have gluten at all? Thanks. I feel stupid asking but you never know what they put in stuff anymore!

Hi Sabrina; We're always told on this forum that no question is a stupid one. To be honest, after all these years, I've never given paper towels a thought. I really wouldn't think that they would have gluten in them. I believe they are just made of wood and other recycled paper ... most of which would also be made of wood. :)

Yep, that's our motto. You ask away any question you want - no question is too silly or stupid...... especially where Celiac Disease is involved......

I never have worried about paper towels myself - although I must say that I am careful not to use the last one that has any residuals of the glue on it......

Papertowels, napkins, tissues, and the like, are fine.....the only reason for concern would be if they were, say: Kleenex tissues with some sort of lotion in them, etc. But the fact that you asked such a question is a good sign--that you're being really careful/diligent about this. ;)

I never use the last papertowel either!!! My children have food allergies, and I read that the glue could have dairy, corn, etc..plus they feel yucky anyway! Thanks, atleast thats one less thing to have to worry about!

      They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

      In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

      This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

      I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
