Need Some Help Gaining Weight And Eating So Frustrated

Hi guys just wanted to say what a great forum! I have been on a glutten free diet for around 2 months or so. I have been pretty goood so far, some accidental oops since i am still new at this. I had just started to eat a lot better before all of this started. Finally got on a steady meal plan, and slowley gained weight to 120. Then it happended, started getting sick, stomach pains, gas, very tired all the time, and constipation. It got really aggravating for me, since i had no idea what it was. I started missing work more having to go home early or call sick. Before this have called sick MAYBE 3-5 times in 4-5 years. I finally saw my doctor, (Hate doctors) this also was my first time seeing this one. It was a physicians assistant to, not a real docotor. He didn't really give any input or anything just told me to do a blood test. Just a very basic test latter white cells were good, red, etc. So at this point i said screw it. I did my own research and started a food log to get a idea what it could be. I started browsing the forums and came up with a few possibles, then tried the wheat thing. (After i found out i was getting sick eating Cinnamon tost Crunch) First ingredient was Wheat. Long story short i started feeling better, then went back to test theory one more time, got sick again. Should get blood test to see what i need to stay away from anytime now. (Stupid USPS) Well since this started i have got very frustrated on what i can eat, giving up many things i like. I get free food at Starbucks (Work there) and now can't eat like any free food. Now i barley eat anything, i eat one meal a day and its late late dinner around 7:00-8:00pm. When i am at work which is 80% of time i can't eat anything around or at work chilis(Ribs, Steak Chicken no sauce) To expensive around 11-20 Bux) :o or Subway. I have gained some weight back, From 112 pounds at 6' to 123 now (Staying no matter what) Anyone have any suggestings for Good instant food or work that Isn't frozen (no freezer at work) I do have Depression, (200mg twice a day still dosn't work worth poop) which i have felt had gotton better before this, now i feel is worse again. I am 6' 123 still, 23 years old, am a smoker right now, and drink 1-2 times a week. Thanks for any input. Brian

P.S. think i am Wheat, maybe barley, oats, soy, and maybe little milk?

I went flying recently and at O'Hare airport tried to get some food, and couldn't find jack. Plus no one knew anything about glutten free. Finally got a Yorgort, (Different brand then ususal and then latter broke out.) I think it was Danon i tried usual Yoplait. Athough i have been cutting dairy back also today i ate cereal Chex which i know is glutten free and still felt sick after 1/2 the bowl. Not as bad as usual.

It's important to get 3 meals a day and protein with each meal. Refined carbs without fats and protein can make sensitive bodies feel pretty lousy.

Healthy Choice chicken and rice soup and Dinty Moore beef stew are gluten-free and make easy meals. I add extra chicken and beef and veg. to them-usually leftover meat bits from other meals. P.B and apples are a good snack or addition to a meal or a breakfast. Buy yourself a thermos(metal lined) and take the soups/stew-the trick to keeping them hot is to pour boiling water in the thermos and put the lid on a let it sit while you warm up the soup or other food. Then dump out the water and put the stuff in.

I eat at Chili's from time to time and haven't had a problem. It varies by location how well the staff is trained. The one nearset me is near several restaurants that have gluten-free menues so they do well and I haven't had a problem. Another location I got a successful meal at but staff was unprofessional so I don't go there anymore. I get the mushroom and swiss burger(bunless) with the steamed broccoli or the garlic and herb salmon with the steamed broccoli.

Hard boiled eggs are good protein sources and portable and cheap.

You can do a low carber's trick and take sandwich fillings and wrap them in a lettuce leaf-use the leaf lettuce not the iceberg lettuce heads.

Thanks for your input I would of never guessed diney more soup was glutten free. It's acually was and now is my favorite again. Going to have to do the soup thing like you said. Right now all my instant meals are still frozen foods. Only thing I can eat around work is veggie rolls at a oriental restrant. (with my glutten free soy sauce)

I suggest staying away from all gluten items, daily and soy for at least a month to see if you are not better. Portable food that will help you gain weight will depend on what you like to eat (other than bakery goods).

An apple is easy to drag along and a small bowl of peanut butter for dipping will add calories for weight gain.

My favorite is lunch meat roll-ups. Slice of meat rolled around a pickle. Two or three will fit in a snack bag with a tiny size ice pack for on the go eating.

Have a big spoon full of natural nut butters several times a day, that helped me gain weight (I was 6ft at 97 lbs at my lowest). Almond, peanut, soy, cashew, they're all good, full of good fats, fiber and protein. And they're yummy, too. I like to smear a big spoon ful onto a rice cake :D:D:D

hehe I love Peanut Butter! Just had to say that.

That is how I put on weight after going gluten-free, I was so addicted to pb. I never ate it before, but when I was sick I was eating a jar a week, at the least. Then it just went crazy from there. Now I only eat pb on the weekends lol.

After waisted time of new care team, yet again EXHAUSTED saw new gi today in Modesto, though all my ailments im not getting any kind of concern of me being celiac and sentive to just about everything since menopause. Dr daid why don't I go see you guys because my blood shows zero for celiac. I told him im glutenfree since 1994 by colonoscopy with biopsy positive celiac sprue by GI.Its RIDICULOUS when im bringing in material from this site of knowledge as well as the autoimmune institute, and  there's zero interest on their part.Medical IS causing me depression.Im view as a disability chaser, IM STILL RECOVERING from being a bus driver that im still healing and having more issues, now I may have multiple sclerosis or meningioma. Ive reached out, wrote letters, NOT feeling well. This is inhumane.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.
