Hey you guys,

I tried to find out on the web if Green Giant Broccoli and Cheese frozen side-dish is gluten-free. I couldn't find a gluten-free list on their site. So, I called the company...they said that I needed to read the ingredients....well, DUHHHHHHH!

I know, obviously, that the Broccoli is gluten-free. I'm just a little concerned about the cheese sauce.

Does anyone know definitively if this product is gluten-free? It's my lunch today

Thanks for any input. -Julie :)

Green Giant is a Gerneral Mills company and General Mills will clearly list any gluten. So, as the person on the phone told you, all you need to do is read the ingredients. If it doesn't list wheat, rye, barley or oats, it's gluten-free.

Yep...just read the label they do not hide anything so it will clearly say wheat, rye, barley, oats if it contains any :D

Thank you,

I just wasn't sure. I was left a bit confused after my phone conversation with the rep. I think it was the way that she said it that confused me. I was trying to find out if there was any hidden gluten...and she just kept saying "read the label." When I asked if it was clearly stated, she said, "we only list top allergens." Anyway, I was just left a bit frustrated and confused.

Thank you for responding!!!! :) -Julie

Please make sure, when you read product information on this forum or others, to check the date of the post - as this one is over five years old.

Many time product information is subject to change without notice. As well, it would not be safe to rely on information posted five years ago. B)

...just saying ;) (as my kids say )

Five years later, this is still true. General Mills shares this label policy with Unilever and Kraft, among others. Product formulas may have changed, but the policy regarding clear disclosure of any gluten has not. ALWAYS READ LABELS.

No the broc and cheese is not gluten free! There is an ingredient called autolyzed yeast extract and this is made from barley! I went through each ingredient. I wouldn't risk as but make your own choice. Take care! ? #celiacstrong ❤️

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
