Hi,

I'm looking for a celiac disease support group in South West, VA. Does anyone know about a group in this area or would you be interested in helping to start one? Thanks for the information. :)

Where are you? The only groups I know are at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg and a new one at Lewis-Gale Foundation in Salem. I think this Thursday will be that group's second meeting (if they meet Thursday). I am hoping to remember to to call the foundation Wednesday to check on it.

I'm in Blacksburg, so if you guys find one in this area, I would love to know when and where they meet. Thanks!

Call Montgomery Regional and ask them. They had a group that was meeting every three months. I've got a call in to Lewis-Gale about their group.

Great--I'm going to my gastroenterologist today in Christiansburg, so I'll ask him about the support group at Montgomery Regional and let you all know what I find out.

Hi everyone!

I'm a little further south! I live around the Bristol area. I called Welmont but I haven't had any luck on locating a group. We make a trip atleast once a month to Roanoke to see our allergist! :)

Hey everyone -- I live in northern virginia (Fairfax). It's about twenty minutes from DC.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
