The House Is So Quiet

Roda Rising Star

Thursday husband and I drove 300 miles to WV and met my parents about half way to their house. They live in NW PA and my boys are spending a week with them. We will be going up to stay for a week also on the 18th. This is the first time I have ever been away from my youngest (ds1 is 9 and ds2 is 5). I did spend 5 days in Chicago when the oldest was around 20 months old, but that is it. The house is so quiet and it is taking some getting use to. I miss them terrible, but I think I will adjust fine. Husband and I needed some time to ourselves and I think it will be good for all of us. I couldn't ask for them to be in better hands and I know the are going to have a really good time. They are making memories with their grandparent's that they can look back on and remember. I have memories of staying with my mom's parents. They had a cabin on a island in a lake in Northern Ontario that we would go to almost every summer as a family and then a few summers my parents sent my brother and I up before them. We would treck the 5 mile island exploring, go fishing everyday, catch bull frogs, go on trips in the boat and picnic on neighboring islands and play cards. Grandma would fry up all the fish and frogs that we caught and have some of the best fried fish known to man. There was an out house and a rigged up outside shower, nothing fancy, but that was what made it so great. The boy's are having fun going to the barn and shoveling horse poop and feeding the horses. They have a huge round roofed barn that my grandfather (paternal) built that they are exploring, they're trying to catch frogs in the swamp and catching crawfish in the creek. I can't wait unil I get there so I can play too.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
