Okay, so I had to share. Some of you wrote last week I think it was, about Philly Swirl, loving their pops... I wrote them, and the owner starting writing me back, he was really sweet about supporting them, and that yes, they are having some trouble, but are trying to spread the word. His two e-mails are below. If you shop at Sam's Club they are still doing a trail on their sugar free pops there... They sell their different products at Meijer and Walmart too. It makes me sad to see an allergy/intolerance company having trouble staying a float, when all those other stupid gluten-full companies are raking it in ! :o Their site is: Open Original Shared Link

FYI for ya'll: (PS--He did send me pics of his daughter too!) How's that for the "personal touch"!

Dear Jen!!

Thank you so much!!! Believe me, I am very grateful to you. It's times like this that I am very happy that I personally respond to all of our email.

I'm curious, did you happen to purchase my product at a Sam's Club, and if so, which store location do you shop at?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Jen,

Believe me, I have approached many other grocery chains and most of them were NOT interested in selling our products.

As you may have already realized, Sam's Clubs have only given us a trial period to see how our Sugar Free (Splenda) Stix would sell. Please do me a HUGE favor and contact or email a few of your friends (particularly those who have diabetes or those on low sugar/low carb diets) to try my product at Sam's. Our original trial period had actually expired at the end of March and Sam's has decided to extend it temporarily. Word of mouth is clearly making a huge difference. We are even offering a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE!

On a personal note, my wife and I have a new addition to our family, her name is Mya. Here are some photos (please see attached). Have a great afternoon and PLEASE keep in touch with me.

-Alex Plotkin

PS--If you don't know what they are--popsicles, icecream bars, ices, that come in combinations of gluten free, dairy free, nut free...

that's a bummer!

VydorScope Proficient

I check walmart just yesterday and so nothing by thier brand name... I do not get out to Sams Club very often, so do not know if they carry them here or not. :(

KaitiUSA Enthusiast

They carry them at a Sam's Club near us. I'll have to go there sometime. Do they sell ones with regular sugar? I would rather have the sugar then the sugar substitutes.

jenvan Collaborator

Kaiti--

Yes....they have like 6 different kinds and only one of those is sugar free. I'm not a sugar free person myself... Bring on the skittles !

Oh, and all of their frozen desserts, except for the sandwiches are gluten and nut free. Their website is funny...it has all these funky characters on it... Random thought :)

Those are good, saw them at Sams - Houston. I tried the sugar free ones.

I sent them an e-mail last night thanking them for being allergy/celiac friendly. I couldn't post until now, though, cause the board was acting up on me last night.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
