Has anyone tried the gluten-free pasta at Olive Garden?

Yes. It's okay. Nothing to write home about.

From what I've heard, it's just a pre-packaged bag of pasta that they warm up and put on a plate for you. They don't make it, they buy it and warm it for you...not something I'm really excited about :(

Oh well!

Hubby has tried it and he seems OK with it. However, there is a difference between stores in various locations. Hubby likes a lot of sauce, so he orders extra sauce. The Cedar Rapids Olive Garden accommodates him, the the one in St. Louis area woul d not, saying their regular marinara sauce is not gluten-free.

I have a friend in FL who had a positive experience when she went and recommended that I try it. We haven't been yet, but that is because we prefer to avoid restaurants with 2 toddlers. Our OG is always incredibly packed (over an hour wait even on weekdays) so it is way easier to just make pasta at home.

I'd rather go to PF Changs anyway. Mongolian beef is incredibly time consuming to make at home. I'd rather pay for it ;-)

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
