Skin Biopsy Results?

These are my 18 mos olds skin biopsy results... Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

R, arm punch: Vacuolar interface dermatitis with perivascular and periadnexal lymphocytic inflammation

Comment: The histologic findings are consistent with a connective tissue disease

I don't understand why there is nothing about antibodies here?!?! If her rash is not related to gluten and is a being cause by a different autoimmune disease, shouldn't another type of antibody be here?

My husband took her for the biopsy. I do not know if the Derm biopsied the skin next to the lesion or lesion itself. My husband literally had beg him to do the biopsy, again we were being brushed off with a dx of eczema. It was a 0.2cm X 0.2cm x 0.2cm punch biopsy. If that helps anyone.

Please, anyone who has had negative skin biopsies for DH or any other experience with a skin biopsy, please share your insight. These results seems so vague to me. I feel like calling the lab to ask them questions.

Thanks!

If the biopsy was done next to a lesion you should be able to see where it was done. Did your husband watch the procedure? If he did can he tell you about where the biopsy was done? Can you call the doctors office and ask? The placement of the biopsy and whether it was on the lesion itself should be in the record.

I would ask to follow this up with the doctor. Excema is not a connective tissue disorder as far as I know. You could also seek out a second opinion with another derm if you don't think the biopsy was done correctly.

For DH, they have to look for DH in a special way.

I doubt they look for DH unless prompted.

They have to look at the sample in an electronic microcope I think, and look for fluorescent IgA deposits somehow,

if they took the sample somewhere where there has been a lesion, the IgA is used up and they cannot diagnose DH.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
