Does Citrus Aggravate Dh?

Has anyone noticed that citrus aggravates their DH?

I've recently had a relapse of my DH that corresponds to a period where I ate a lot of citrus (it's cheap at this time of year).

Lately I've cut back and the DH is better, but it may just be a coincidence.

I wonder too. Thanks for asking. My sores are flaring too. Been using lemon in water and lemon instead of salt.

i havent noticed it aggravating mine- HOWEVER- i only partake in lemons or lemonade. because im a believer in a certain diet (and because it always made me throwup in the past)- i always abstain from oranges & orange juice. so i cant help u there.

the acidity in orange juice could be aggravating your stomach & pissin off your antibodies- but im really just guessing.

*ALSO- i did just read something recently about how they will add weird stuff to the orange juice to give it more color - probably unidentifiable "natural flavors" (and im not trying to claim gluten- im just saying like weird preservatives)

???

I stopped buying citris when I found out that most of them are coated. It is written on the box. That coating seems to get me.

No, citrus shouldn't affect your DH.. You may have inadverdently gotten glutened at the same time.

My daughter's Chiropractor says that citrus fruits, pineapple and tomato are the worst things for her skin :-( but he wasn't treating her for Celiac so this may not help you.

ps- i eat tomatoes, tomato paste, and bolognese ALL THE TIME, it had no effect on my DH in the past. i recently got the itch again on my stomach after what i believe was a glutening from PF CHANGS 3 weeks ago- and ive had a ton of citrus- it has not aggravated the DH at all. just my experience

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
