Negative Test---How Long Until We Test Again?

My 6y.o. son's celiac test was negative. He is not symptomatic, so I do trust the result. He is positive with THE genetic subtype most likely to result in celiac, and he is IGA deficient (which I understand also increases the risk that he may develop celiac). I've heard of too many people without classic symptoms who have celiac and don't want to overlook it. At this point, I'm thinking that I may have him tested again around age 16--so there is time to adjust to a new diet before he leaves home if it's positive. Does this sound like a reasonable plan? How often would you test on someone without symptoms but who is higher-than-typical risk for developing it?

In countries that routinely screen for celiac they test around age 4 and again at puberty. Of course if he develops any issues, even with learning and mood not just GI related he should also be tested then.

      They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests. Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

      This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

      I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
