Wal-mart Going Gf

Have any of you heard anything about Wal-Mart carrying a new line of gluten-free products? I talked to my mom yesterday and she said her neighbor had read an article that said Wal-Mart was going to start carrying gluten-free products, and that they were going to require the wal-mart brand products to be clearly labled as gluten free or not. If it's true, that is great new for those of us who live in small towns. We may not have a health food store....but we have a Wal-Mart!

Yep, people here are quite excited about it. It is being discussed on another thread. Here is the link:

I only hope that this will extend to Canada also!

Take care,

This subject was discussed at length and looked at by many quite recently, go back and try to find it. It discussed the fact that 900 out of 1200 of WalMart's packaged products will be gluten-free soon. Many of us replied to an email address that someone put up on that thread and WalMart got back to us the same day. We thanked them for going gluten-free with so many of their products. I can't wait to go to my WalMart which is 45 minutes from where I live........to see what all they have now that is gluten-free. It will be great. Try to find that thread. Barbara

If the product truly is gluten free, that's great, but can we rely on it not being processed or produced on the same belt or facility as gluten-containing products? I worry about cross contamination.

Helen.

Does anyone know if they are going to offer new products or are they just changing their labels to indicate they are gluten free? What I am wondereing about, will they be offering gluten-free breads, pasta, pizza, etc ? If that is the case then I will be happy too. It's great that they will be changing their labels but doesn't every company have to do that by Jan,2006 ?

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
