I am looking for something I can send a hot meal to school in for my kids. Anyone use this? I think I am going to try one of these.

I have used something like that for carrying a 9 x 13 covered dish. Its a thick canvas out side and a big gel pack that you microwave. It did a good job for the 1 hour I used it. Don't know about how long the heat lasts.

My son's teacher reluctlantly agreed to once and a while to heat up a lunch for him, but I could tell she really doesn't want to. They are all worried that it will create problems with the other kids in the class. Good news is that the school nurse spoke up and said that there are a few other kids that they accomidate like this so I think that is why his teacher agreed. I ordered the buddy hot and cold bundle today. When I get it I'll post how it works. So my thoughts on getting this lunch thing was to not have to bother with the microwave at all.

Works great and the kids ask me if they are having a regular lunch or a warm lunch in it. I only ordered one to try first. Now I need to order another one.

What do you do if part of the lunch is warm & part not? Soup & an apple? Do you send 2 bags?

I may get this for myself. Thanks for testing it.

The bundle package I got was two thermal totes with hot/cold pack, bag to carry both in and one extra hot/cold pack. So yes you pack one hot and one cold. Since I only bought one system, I had to try it out with both boys. They each took one tote for the warm food and I packed a different lunch box with their cold items. When I get a second one They won't have to share and I will be able to use it as intended. This has eliminated the "issue" of the hot lunch at school. They love it.

This sounds perfect for me! Which one exactly did you get? Looks like they have different sizes or styles.

Thank the boys for being the guinea pigs!

I've been debating spending the money on this as well. Can you tell me what kinds of things you've put in their lunch where this worked better than a thermos? In my mind thermoses are only good for soupier things. I'm interested in sending chicken nuggets or fishsticks. Thanks!

I now have one for each of my boys. They still use their regular lunch boxs on days they don't take the lunch and go system. I agree that the thermos works better for soupier things or rice. I bought small flat glad/rubbermaid storage containers to put the food in. I also will wrap things up in foil. O.K, things I have put in their lunch:

-tacos/taco salad

-chicken nuggets

-steamed veggies

-rice

-grilled cheese sandwiches

-Stir fry dishes

-hot dogs

-sliced pork/london broil

-baked potato

-nachos and cheese

-crepes with maple syrup

This is just a few of the things I can think of right now. I also pack the other with their frozen ice pack. Things I have put in that one:

-juice boxes

-homemade lunchables

-fruit

-jello

-raw veggies

-dill pickles

-cottage cheese with fruit

-cold sandwiches

-cheese sticks

-condiments in little containers depending on what I have sent

-sandwich wraps made out of corn tortillas or crepes

-salad with dressing

I also have to send a snack with both of them so I always send extra things that don't have to be warm or cold(chips, pretzels, fruit snacks/roll ups, crackers, nut thins, craisens nuts, etc.). I like that I can pack one with cold things and one with warm things and put them both in the back pack. My only gripe is that once you fill up the totes and put them in the back pack it is a little tight. I wish it was a little bigger, but we are managing. I found certain size containers, baggies and foil work the best to utilize the space better.

Thanks for your great review and meal ideas. I think instead of buying the tote system, I'd rather come and have you be my Mom. ;):D

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
