Blood Test Results

Hi,

I requested that the results of my last blood test be mailed to me so that I could finally see the numbers. These were taken October of '04 before I started losing tons of weight. I was 2 weeks gluten-free at the time of testing and the results are negative. Here are the results and reference ranges. Just wondering if anyone thinks the numbers would have been much different if on gluten at the time.

Gliadin Ab IgA <20 Reference ranges: <20 Negative

20-30 Weak +

>30 Moderate to strong +

Gliadin Ab IgG <24 Reference ranges <24 Negative

24-30 Weak +

>30 Moderate to strong +

tTG Ab IgA <20 Reference ranges <20 Negative

24-30 Weak +

>30 Moderate to strong +

I don't fully understand the results. Does this mean my #'s were right on the border or are they not showing the actual # and instead just showing the category they fall into (negative). Anyone know?

The results you posted all show the normal range.

Sure the gluten free diet can affect the results though. As soon as you start the diet the healing begins.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
