The Ballad Of The Intestines

Does anyone else have frequent "sounds" coming from their stomach / intestines?

Like, so loud that others can hear in a quiet-ish room?

Or, if you're laying in bed, your spouse can easily hear?

Mine doesn't feel like it's coming directly from my stomach (it's lower, so I'm assuming intestines) and it's not typically followed by gas, etc.

It reminds me of how our water pipes creak / make noises after we use them due to some type of issue with the air pressure in them.

If this is a problem for the rest of you - is there anything to lessen in?

Sounds, you mean like bird calls or sirens or something? Just kidding.

Lots and lots of gut noises. Have had them all my life.

Mine are especially loud immediately after my first few bites, if I'm really hungry.

Do you have pain, or just sounds?

Mainly just sounds.

However, I also have this dull pain (like, not enough to make me stop doing anything) in my lower abdomen that I keep thinking is GYN-related, but I've started to wonder if it's an intestinal issue (especially after my GYN didn't find anything.)

I've had these sounds, too. Not often but I know exactly what you are talking about. I will have to take notice when they happen. I just thought they were sounds of a happy, healed gut. I do know it usually happens hours after I have eaten and I know I am a slow-digester so maybe it is moving food along?

Does anybody know of a guide that ranks reevaluates universities and colleges in terms of their accommodation of celiac disease or food allergies?   Thanks in advance for any leads! Valerie

thank you, i have been doing that the last few weeks and will continue to do so. I had not had my ttg iga checked since I was diagnosed 14 yrs ago so I am not sure if they ever dropped below the 15-20 range.    all my other labs are completely normal but I am concerned that this may be signs of refractor celiac or something else since I'm so careful with gluten-free diet

Around 9% of celiacs cannot tolerate any oats, even gluten-free oats. It might be worth eliminating them for a few months, then get re-tested.

I only eat certifed gluten-free products but a lot of which are processed. Could there be trace gluten in those or is that very unlikely?

For people with celiac disease hidden gluten in their diets is the main cause of elevated Tissue Transglutaminase IgA Antibodies (tTG-IgA), but there are other conditions, including cow's milk/casein intolerance, that can also cause this, and here is an article about the other possible causes (you may want to avoid oats):
