There is no gluten in Pillsbury Frosting (except coconut pecan). They are owned by Smuckers, a great company who will always list any form of gluten. And Duncan Hines Frostings are gluten free. Just read the label.

Tabz - when you want to find the gluten free status of a product, you can do a search on this site or use Google. You would be amazed on what you can find. :)

try googling wilton cakes. They have a buttercream frosting recipe that is gluten free and amazing. It's just butter, shortening, confectioners sugar, and vanilla.

side note if you are looking for a basic recipe you can generally find something on google. You will find that google is a great tool for recipes. Especially things like frosting which should be naturally gluten free.

~Basic Buttercream Frosting~ :

1 stick of butter, margarine, or the equivalent in shortening, such as palm or coconut based, gluten free

1 box of powdered sugar, or the equivalent amount of regular sugar spun in a blender or food processor until it is "powdered"

pinch (about a quarter teaspoon) salt

vanilla extract, gluten-free, teaspoon

liquid, such as water, milk, or nut milk

_____

Warm the stick of butter until room temperature by letting it set out a little while, but do not melt it. Add salt and vanilla to the sugar, mix. Put some of the powdered sugar into the butter in a bowl, and mash it up with a fork or pastry blender or potato masher, under it is mixed together, then keep adding the sugar to the butter and mashing/mixing, until it is all mixed together. It should be slightly crumbly. Now add very small amounts of water or milk, and stir, until the mixture resembles frosting. It does not take much, so don't add more than a tablespoon at a time.

Makes enough to frost a layer cake or a batch of cupcakes.

Chocolate frosting may be made out of this by adding cocoa powder to the dry sugar mixture before adding it to the butter, or by melting chocolate chips and adding that.

Peanut butter frosting may be made by adding some peanut butter and decreasing the amount of butter slightly, or even using all peanut butter for those avoiding dairy

Honey or maple can be made by adding honey or maple syrup, and decreasing water/milk.

I did notice that Pillsbury frosting has GLUTEN-FREE on the label, I didn't notice that on the label of the Duncan Hines frosting. Does it say gluten free on the Duncan Hines label?

Not too sure, but most likely it's gluten free, but you should read the label. Label reading is the key to a recovered life.

Most recipes for frostings are naturally gluten free such as buttercreams, royal icing and ganache.

But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
