Certified Gluten-Free

Purchased frozen pie crust Certified Gluten-Free with the CF logo inside a circle. Under the ingredients is the statment, contains: Tree Nuts. Facility also processes wheat, milk, eggs, soy, fish & peanuts.

I'm concerned with the wheat. Is this not cross contamination? I'm puzzeled how it got its CF Certification. The company is Fabe's All Natural Bakery, out of Salinas, CA. I want to call the company, but I'm sure their closed today.

Happy Thanksgiving!

They do not even have to be on dedicated lines to be certified gluten free. Here is an excerpt from GFCO.

Are Dedicated lines important?

Sometimes. The type of production process, cleaning methods and other factors are important in accessing if a gluten-free product can safely be run on the same line after gluten containing products. Our auditors assess the risk for cross contamination during their audits. Manufacturers may be required to test equipment to document that lines can be safely used to produce gluten-free products. Dedicated lines and equipment used for gluten-free products greatly reduces the chances of cross contamination.

That symbol means they are getting inspections and independent verification that their food is under 10 ppm gluten by GFCO. You might want to look at how the GFCO certification works for some peace of mind. Open Original Shared Link I have found GFCO certified foods to be very safe. :)

I wouldn't be concerned in the least. In the same facility doesn't even mean in the same room, much less on the same line. And it's jumped through all the hoops for certification. Very little of the food we buy is "certified."

No worries--GFCO is very reliable. I know the people personally who set up this certification and continue to run it. They are sensitive celiacs and take the reliability of the certification process very seriously.

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
