Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookies

I was beyond thrilled when I found baked goods that were gluten free. With much excitement I first tried the Betty Crocker yellow cake...it was terrible. It looked like sponge and tasted just the same. I decided to give the Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookies a shot. They are AMAZING!! Forget Chips Ahoy and Keebler boxed cookies, these cookies were better than any other cookie I've ever had! Even non gluten free cookies cannot meet these standards. They fall apart a little easier but by far surpass any doubts I've ever had about a gluten free cookie :)

Welcome to the forum, Amyy! Glad your cookies turned out so well!

There are many ways to doctor up gluten-free cake mixes. You might want to check Open Original Shared Link and do a search for gluten-free.

Also check Open Original Shared Link, which is another General Mills website.

Interesting...I did not care for the cookies, but loved the cake! I totally agree with Sylvia. Check out those sites! My mom makes things from the Cake Mix Doctor gluten-free all the time for me and keeps some of it for her because she thinks they taste so good! If your into baking, she gives a ton of tips on how to make gluten-free cakes and other baked goods. I'm also on Betty Crocker.com all the time. They have great ideas for baking, but all for appetizers and meals!

We took one gluten-free cake mix (Pamela's?) and followed the directions to tun it into spice cake and it went from just OK to something everybody loved. HUGE difference.

Haven't tried the Betty Crocker cake mix or cookie mix, but the CHOCOLATE BROWNIES are fantastic. Waaaaayyy better then the gluten-free brownie mix from Trader Joe's. They are as good (or better) than regular brownies.

I totally agree about the brownies. Way better than gluten brownies. I very slightly under-bake mine and they stay nice and soft for days. I hated the cookies though, so i gave them to my roommates who actually liked them for some reason.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
