My grandmother is turning 88 this month. My mom is planning on throwing her a suprise luau. Since my dd is gluten free, she wants the whole meal to be gluten free. Anyone have an luau recipes? (esp. any breads) There will be about 15 people there. Thanks!

Here is a yummy Hawaiian sweet bread recipe from Living Without Mag:

and here are dozens of Luau recipes! You could do roasted pork for your main meal, if roasting a whole pig is a bit much.

I looked through them--they all look pretty celiac friendly.

They look delicious!!

AND on that same site, here are suggestions for planning your luau, decorating, music, etc:

Just be sure to use Lea and Perrins Worcestershire (it's gluten-free) and San J Organic gluten-free Tamari for the soy sauce when the recipe calls for those.

Happy Birthday To your Gramma!!! have fun! Sounds like fun.

Will my invite be coming soon? :D

Thanks-

There were lots of gluten-free recipes. I have one question? When a "reg. recipe" calls for flour. Can you just substitute the all purpose gluten free flour cup for cup or do I add something else?

That depends on what you are making. If it simply used as a thickening agent or a coating, yes, but if it is a baked good, it is more complicated.

What are you referring to?
