I am new to wheat allergy and I bought some rice cakes yesterday and after eating them I was all itchy again. Could whole grain brown rice be made with wheat? I can't find documentation on brown rice.

I suppose there's a chance for cross-contamination but not likely. What brand are they? I know Lundberg farms rice cakes are all gluten-free. These are my big gluten-free staple. I don't particularly care for gluten-free bread so I use these as bagles, toast, and sandwiches.

Rice is it's own plant... so it can't be made out of other things. "Brown" rice just means that the germ hasn't been processed off of the grain.

What brand of rice cake was it? Cross-contamination is an issue for a few companies (like Quaker), but it cold also be an allergy to rice as well...

It is Quaker brand but what's interesting is the germ is removed from the corn. Is there is significance in that the property of the corn is changed?

It was Quaker. I just checked their web site and cross-contamination is something that can't be sure of. Rats. I'll have to buy the brand you mentioned. thanks for the info.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
