Zein Specifically

Right, so, like, everything has corn. I find huge lists of corn derived ingredients. But I only want to avoid zein, at least for now. I'm having a really hard time, (impossible time really) separating corn ingredients from zein ingredients.

For instance, I've read that cellulose and microcrystalline cellulose contain corn. But when I read things like this, Open Original Shared Link

it specifically says that stalks or cobs are used. These would have little to no zein, so I don't want to worry about these. This is good because my vitamins contain these ingredients and I still want to take them while avoiding zein. But this is just 1 example where I *have* found that this a corn ingredient I feel safe ingesting while trying to figure out if my body reacts to zein.

I know to avoid the more obvious corn culprits, but there's gotta be thousands of chemicals that use corn in some way or another.

I've also read that some artificial flavors or colors that have corn might also not have zein, but not anything credible.

Can anyone help me out here? Links, ingredients, personal experiences with specific ingredients or products?

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
