Almond Butter That Is Made In A Gluten Free And Peanut Free Facility?

Unfortunately, the only safe almond butter that I've been able to find is Artisana's Roasted Almond Butter, but they're discontinuing it! I'm not sure what I'll eat for breakfast anymore. Such a bummer.

I don't consume any sugar, and I have such extensive food allergies that I don't want to purchase an almond butter that has an added oil. That cancels out Barney Butter's new "Bare" line because it has palm oil added to it.

Does anyone know of a company that produces their almond butter in a peanut free and gluten free facility, and only uses just plain almonds in the jar? Preferably roasted, because I tried purchasing Artisana's raw almond butter today and it was icky. It was all dried out and cakey. Thank you!

Absolutely - I found it easy to make almond butter in a food processor.

Roast 2 or 3 cups of almonds for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Place in food processor to process for 15-20 minutes...yep it takes that long...first it will become almond flour and after time it turns into almond butter - be patient.

IMPORTANT: Make sure your almonds come from a safe source - I recently got burned by a 4lb bag that wasn't labeled as being processed in a shared facility - admittedly my fault but still no fun.

      Rectal pain

      I was suffering from PF just previous to being dx with celiac disease about 25 yr. ago but have not been troubled with it since. Not sure what the connection between the two is of if there is one. But I do know it is a very painful condition that takes your breath away when it strikes.

      I have dealt with proctalgia fugax on and off for a year now. It feels almost paralyzing during an episode and they have started lasting longer and longer, sometimes 20+ minutes. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and wonder if the 2 are related. I did request a prescription for topical nitroglycerin for my PF episodes and that has helped tremendously...

      Hey @Butch68, I also have dermatitis herpetiformis but don't suffer from it anymore. I used to drink Guinness too but I drink Cider now when out on social occasions. I assume you are in Ireland or the UK. If it's any good to you ... 9 White Deer based in Cork brew a range of gluten-free products including a gluten-free Stout. I'm not sure if they...

      Gluten Issues and Vitamin D

      This is a very common question, and the most important thing to know is that no, Guinness is not considered safe for individuals with coeliac disease. While it's fascinating to hear anecdotes from other coeliacs who can drink it without immediate issues, this is a risky exception rather than the rule. The core issue is that Guinness is brewed from barley, which contains gluten, and the standard brewing process does not remove the gluten protein to a level safe for coeliacs (below 20ppm). For someone like you who experiences dermatitis herpetiformis, the reaction is particularly significant. DH is triggered by gluten ingestion, even without immediate gastrointestinal symptoms. So, while you may not feel an instant stomach upset, drinking a gluten-containing beer like Guinness could very well provoke a flare-up of your skin condition days later. It would be a gamble with a potentially uncomfortable and long-lasting consequence. Fortunately, there are excellent, certified gluten-free stouts available now that can provide a safe and satisfying alternative without the risk.
