Can Anyone Offer Help For How To Find A Good Restaurant Where I'm Traveling?

It's a bit out of the way...Humboldt county. Will be there for a week at Thanksgiving, and given that it's such a health conscious place, I'm thinking they might have a number of restaurants that are either farm to table, or very Celiac friendly. Any help on how to go about researching? Any ideas would be helpful...not a ton of time to research, and my mom is very "fend for yourself" with the cooking....

Got no answer for you, but Google might. I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE Humboldt county. Big trees, cool shops, and some great music stores. I hope you have a wonderful time!

I would contact the local celiac chapter - there should be one in the area. They would know how to direct you.

To find this do google or other search engines like this:

gluten free McKinleyville CA

gluten free Eureka CA

gluten free Arcata CA

Or any other town and state in the area near where you will be staying. See also:

If you have a smart phone or Iphone there are plenty of Apps that will allow you to search for gluten-free restaurants based on your GPS location.

As I recall there are health type markets there. Look them up and give them a call and ask. How about bringing lots of food and telling your mom not to touch your food. That is what I'll be doing next week. My parents get it a little bit, but not totally. Get some boars head sliced meat to take for yourself. The ham is yummy. Make some hard boiled eggs. Bring some gluten-free nuts and your bread and some fruit. That is what I'm going to do. :)

Many years ago yes, after eating and going to bed, apparently my esophagus filled with food that my body rejected, the esophagus would lay against the Heart sack (pericardium?) and the heart would respond by becoming arrhythmic. That went away with the strict diet.

I was commenting on the report saying it did not mention migraines! Yes it does last paragraph says have not seen any evidence that Celiac cause migraines! I thought this was about truth?

It has been known for some years that celiacs suffer from migraines at a higher rate than the general populatation. It is an established symptom.
