Loose Bowels, Again...

Hello everybody

I have been dx last week (biopsy positive, 3b Marsh) and I've been gluten-free since December 2nd. I'm looking for reassurance, really... the first weeks of gluten-free diet went great, I felt better, my bowel movements were back to once a day and normal. Now since 5 days ago, the big D is back with me and today worse than in the last few days. Actually it's not really diarrhoea (sorry) more like very loose stools (sorry again) coming every two/three hours. Just like "before".

Is this normal? I am sure I have not been glutened: that did happen, round New Year's eve but it should be in the past.

On the other hand I

1)am not feeling really well, slight sore throat, coudl either be a virus OR be part of celiac

2) have been eating too many silly things: lots of Coke (I never do, I had a sort of weird craving), lots of sugary stuff including chocolate and gluten-free biscuits made by me and not made by me (possibly with milk or butter, which I cannot have), and to make up, lots of vegetable soup with beans in it.

so it is possible that my bowels are reacting angrily again. Did anybody else experience this in the first months? It's so discouraging... today I'm confining myself to rice, chicken and apples. We'll see. Please advise...

(my thyroid values are normal but I still have not had all the other check tests)

If you change your diet, even for the good, it can take a while for a healthy gut to adjust. Your gut isn't healthy so it may be less resilent. You may not have been getting enough fiber, too much sugar, too much fiber, beans can be hard to digest, etc.

I've been reading around. Hot American coffee in the morning And afternoon, ample doses of Coke and chocolate are NOT a good idea when your bowels need to heal. I'm going to stop the Coke and the choc completely, but also the coffee which I drink a lot, and we'll see what happens. comments are welcome anyway - a.

Coffee and coke, while wonderful inventions, are pretty acidic. Probably a good idea to cut back on them and try to eat a more "normal" diet.

But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
