  1. Perhaps you could try stir frying the spinach, fresh vegetables are harder to digest than cooked. I've also heard that the field hygiene even in organic fields is not the best.

It's funny but I think that when we get ill we often reach for what we think of as healthy foods but we don't always understand that our digestion, once compromised, can't process those healthy foods.

Brown rice is a good example of that, great when you are healthy but a challenge once you are ill.

Candida can cause nausea and yes, wow, that is a lot of bananas :) and I know that for me bananas really cause the candida to flare.

Yes, I can try doing that. I always wash the veggies with my gluten free soap. hehe (Gluten Free Savonnerie, their facility is free of gluten among other stuff and they test their stuff too) I am paranoid about washing my veggies after I got such pain when I forgot last time.

You are probably very right about the food. One has to rethink stuff for sure.

Yep, a lot of bananas. I feel like I can't survive without them... I am gonna try to at least cut down on them and the bars.

I went to the store and picked up some green peppers, cucumber, lettuce and spinach. Some Lemon.

Are Blueberries fine? I got some.

Thanks for helping me everyone. I wouldn't have come half as far with my stomach/health if it wasn't for you all wonderful people on this board.

  2. It was extra-virgin olive oil right? Anything else is trouble.

I do feel a ton better. I went to a pretty good, tho sometimes difficult, naturopath who got me on some pills & powders and helped w/ the diet some. I wish she'd helped w/ the diet more.

I mostly used food lists from books and online. And they all have some conflicts w/ each other except for the basics of no sugar, yeast, fatty meat (tho fish that's called fatty is good), no fruit etc.

One of the powders was whey protein - some ultra-pure stuff from a lab. Weird that I was ok w/ it since any other dairy product was trouble. But it's a big plus for nutrition while figuring out what can be eaten.

I had to learn to cook. And put leftovers straight to the freezer.

U did say b4 that u were diag w/ candida right? Local library should have some books.

I thought the food/symptom diary was essential. I still do it. I'm still too fatigued from the simplest tasks & until I recently quit soy, often brain-fogged and stupid.

I came back to these forums to try to figure out what else might be wrong and what I should do.

So now, of course, I have to consider lyme & mercury. :)

I use extra virgin olive oil. Had no idea the rest was bad. Lucky me.

Nope, got no diagnosis of Candida, but I guess I am gonna try cutting out some sugar and see what happens.

I hope I can go see that naturpath doctor in a while that was recommended to me by a co worker. She has seen him for years I guess.

I am lucky that I don't get the fatigue spells anymore. I used to get the really bad where I just had to go to bed. It was months ago now. I do have bunch more energy, but my stomach is still really giving me trouble. Sometimes less and sometimes more.

    1) I *love* broc&cauli w/ just salt&pepper and lemon juice I squeeze over it. Just about anything else on it falls into the bad category for candida.

    2) The egg uncertainty could be caused by what they're cooked in. Can't use butter, margarine or olive oil etc. Heated olive oil becomes bad olive oil. I use safflower oil mostly. Sunflower is ok for me too. Canola gets me dizzy in seconds, followed by gut pain etc.

    3) Garlic is not only specifically fantastic for candida, it's amazing how many ways it's good for so many things.

I use it raw in each single-serving salad dressing I make and use it most of the time I cook chkn or salmon.

I actually do not cook eggs in anything. Hard boiled eggs in water of scrambled eggs mixed with water and a bit of salt in a Teflon pan and nothing else.

Garlic is good, just a bit strong for me sometimes.

Jerseyangel recommended Safflower oil and I have used it once or twice. The verdict is still not in on that one. It works better than Canola though which is bad with me.

  3. Jenny,

How about salmon? It doesn't get much better than Alaskan in the summer. The Copper River reds are in I hear. Sockeye from Ak is my fav by far.

Fresh-squeezed lemon juice (I always have lemons handy since candida) and crushed garlic (again, always have some), sea salt, freshly ground pepper & broiled just enough to still be a little wet inside. YUM!

(That was 2 paragraphs by request :) )

I have a celiac niece in Anch, and I remember hearing of some natural food store. Can't remember the name. You probably already know it. If not, I can find out.

My mom used to say I eat only 5 things, and last year it was nearly true, if u count a salad as one thing.

Salmon, chicken breasts, frozen broccoli/cauliflower mix, almond butter.

But there was also a puffed millet cereal. And eggs - usually w/ onion and green pepper.

Yes, Salmon is good. :) My husband is gonna try to catch some here soon I hope. I buy it sometimes in the store but have had bad luck with fish sometimes there. It isn't always very fresh and can taste very different depending on how they clean it when they catch it. I bought fresh Tuna for a while but got tired of it. I bet Tuna isn't the greatest to eat when it comes to toxins either...

I do eat broccoli and cauliflower. I get organic fresh stuff if I can find it and cook it. That was pert of my rescue diet last week.

I am gonna get some green peppers instead and peel the cucumber. I was hoping I could buy some sunflower seed butter at sunbutter.com. I am waiting for a reply from them about possibly cross contamination.

I do eat a lot of chicken already, hmm...

I eat a Enjoy Life Cereal as a snack sometimes... I should check if it has sugar in it.. I eat like 7 lbs of banana every week... I wonder how I will be able to stop with that... Gosh so much sugar I have been eating without realizing it.

I am not sure if I can do egg or not to tell you the truth. I have tried them many times and sometimes it seems okay and other times not very good. I like scrambled eggs a lot and it makes me full in a good way, the times when it lands well.

Yes, there is a big health food store named Natural Pantry that is pretty okay. But no matter where I look I can't find much that I can eat.

So is Garlic good against Candida too?

    Thanks for you suggestions.

  4. No dressing??

And I remember the solar plexis and assorted gut pain. Ugh.

No, no dressing. :( I tried some olive oil on it and it was okay the first time. Got nauseas the second time, but I think I ended up with too much.

I am one nutritionally challenged person.

    Yes, I meant bell peppers.

So you feel better now? What did you do to get better??? Share!! ;)

  5. I bought the sunflower seeds at Whole Foods. They do have a "made in the same facility as wheat" statement. I dont do well with any nuts or seeds so I'm just gonna have to live w/out. Most of my reaction comes from mold...because of the candida issue. My diet is pretty restricted. I've only been eating like 5 safe foods for maybe 10 months now.

I cant even eat fresh veggies right now because of the mold hypersensitivity....I can eat some frozen veggies though.

So what do you eat? Maybe I can get some ideas. ;)

Have anyone heard of The Environmental Health Center in Texas?

    Open Original Shared Link

On Dr Fine's DVD a doctor from that center talked. It was very interesting I thought. All about people getting toxic and stuff. They have a products there in their online store (which many of them can be found in regular grocery stores even, or health food stores) that are good for people that are toxic. Even how to create a good home with as little toxins as possible.

  6. And Jenny I can totally relate to the "It's like my stomach isn't made to eat food or something."

I used to say it's like I'm allergic to digestion when every damn thing eaten has a reaction.

And no offense but u claim to not be having much sugar and I must disagree w/ bananas and watermelon and berry bars which I'm *sure* are sweetened. A banana might be as sweet as a teaspoon of table sugar.

It's hard but u can eat w/out sweeteners.

And hey! I forgot Alaska! I've been there plenty! My brothers have lived in Anch, Palmer, Wasilla, the Kenai, Valdez, Juneau, Yakutat . . Hmmmm is that it?

Yep, those are little and bigger places up here. :) I live in the biggest town; Anchorage. My husband is born and raised here I am originally from Sweden myself. I have been here for over 5 years now though. Feels like home, most of the time.

So how did you make your stomach like food again? ;)

I wish I could eat other fruits. I am so tired of Banana. :P I wouldn't be able to eat any fruits if I removed bananas and melon from my diet. I tried Raspberries for a while, but they are too sour for now.

Hehe Yes, the berry bars probably are sweetened too. I am eating much more sugar than I thought. :P:blink:

Not sure there will be anything left to eat soon. I'll be eating spinach only..

There is a brand of ham called Hormels Natural. It is gluten free and free of most stuff. I am super sensitive and it works well for me.

  7. If you guys can make shorter paragraphs ... say three lines ... that would make it easier for me to read. I know some of the other Lymies have the same problem. I just can't go from line to line, so I end up skipping the long paragraphs. Thanks.

The posts don't need to be shorter ... just broken up more.

Oh, I'll use the new Rachelville phrase ... La di frickin da! ... or is that too sarcastic? :P

I can read the first couple lines of a paragraph! Yes, I have a lot of stomach trouble including heartburn, from the Lyme Disease. That's why I ended up searching for answers on celiac.com. ;)

Most of the time I've had flare ups, it's been primarily GI issues along with fatigue. More recently I did develop more Lyme-like symptoms ... but for 30 years it was fatigue and GI issues during a flare.

I don't know that you have it, but don't dismiss it. You need a thorough doctor who will test you for everything.

Sure, I'll break it up more. I forgot.

I am not ruling Lyme disease out. I am gonna ask to get tested when I see a doctor.

Strange that the Lyme disease give you heartburn... Things never stop to amaze me when it comes to peoples health and my own, of course.

  8. Mmmmmmmm ham. I haven't had ham or bananas or watermelon etc for ~2yrs.

A banana is one of the sweetest fruits there is. And all melons are off-limits if u think u have candida. The first fruits to reintroduce are apples pears and some berries. (Wish I remembered which)

One thing that worked great for me was almond butter. The single ingred kind. Whole Foods house brand (365) is great. (Also less expensive than any other I've seen) Used to mainly just eat it straight from the jar or sometimes on quinoa flatbread I made (crepe-thin). There's gotta be SOME kind of goofy flour u could use. ;)

Now I often put it on apple slices too.

Have u tested avocado? Mmmm i ve come to love those!

Also, I'm curious what was in the salad that caused so much trouble. Wondering if maybe it was more the dressing's fault?

That is true: banana is very sweet. Didn't think of that.

I am allergic to apple, pear, peach, cherries, almonds, tree nuts, plums, carrot, strawberries.

Do bad on Kiwi and get really nauseas on avocado (probably the fact that it is oily).

    Quinoa makes me nauseas.

    :( :(

The salad had fresh organic spinach, red sweet pepper and cucumber. That's it. All I can think of is that I forgot to wash the sweet pepper before I ate it. I have had that stuff a bunch of times before and never felt anything.

I have been eating egg every day for a while before this happened. Maybe that is a reason... I am clueless.

After I ate I felt my stomach starting to hurt and it kinda moved around in there. Hurt at Solar Plexis for a while and on my right side. I had pain for days, but not as strong as the first day. My intestines has been unhappy ever since. I have been drinking Caraphate every day. It is my miracle drink.

  9. I know why though...it was because I ate 3/4 of a bag of my moldy sunflower seeds last night.

I had only planned on eating like 2 or 3....but yeah I cant "Carla" anything.....I racheled it. I think instead of eating only 2 seeds...I ate all but 2.

Do you grow them or buy them? I have had a hard time finding non-cross/contaminated ones.

I was told www.sunbutter.com is an okay place, but they have soynuts in their stuff... I e-mailed them but haven't heard back. I am desperate for sun flowers seeds. ;)

  10. That's exactly it.

No need to apologize, we all really understand what it is like to have no relief from pain. :( Rant away. :)

I haven't heard anyone else mention digesting glass but that is exactly what I felt like last spring and certain foods really triggered it like quinoa, OMG I felt like I had eaten ground glass. I felt it pass through every part of my system. I felt like I was going insane, I wanted to crawl out of my body and I haven't eaten quinoa since. Metamucil also did the same thing. I know now that grains of any sort are a problem for me.

During that time I ate a diet that would be good for an ulcer patient, no fresh vegetables, no salads - they are harder to digest , nothing with a skin - also harder to digest. I peeled apples and avoided green peas.

    :)

I have been wondering if it could be an ulcer...or a gall stone that I passed. I have some thick stuff in my gall bladder according to an ultrasound a couple of years back. It's in my family. I had pain like this another time and blood tests showed nothing..and then the Celiac possibility came up so I was thinking it wasn't a gall stone, just the Celiac making it hurt. I have had these time periods before when I have had pain for a couple of weeks. I assumed it was the Celiac.

I am jealous of people that feel well. That can eat chocolate, ice creme and potato chips, candy and hot dog with a bun...Of people that can travel with no worries of getting sick from food, that can go to restaurants...

Anyways...I really should go to that doctor and get some tests done. I wish I could go see one of them cutting edge doctors and just step in to his/her office and get taken care of. hehe Knowing they will find what it is and help make it better. ;)

Anyone besides me scared of trying new foods? I hate getting sick, so I dread trying new stuff because of it.

  11. jenny,

do you have health insurance? if you do, you should be able to do a number of tests through a standard doctor... you can have your blood tested for vitamin levels, hormone levels, serotonin, etc. as well as thyroid testing... you may find some levels that could benefit from supplementation and improve to some extent upon boosting any deficient levels...

there's other simple tests you can do that might benefit you for the time being like the candida spit test and a ph test using ph strips... I haven't done either test so I can't vouch for them but it's something that you could check out and won't cost you money...

and as you've been doing, you can see improvement in symptoms without necessarily directly treating an underlying condition... this is what I was doing for the past 15 months until I finally got a diagnosis of lyme disease through a positive blood test with Igenex last month... I saw improvement in a number of areas through dieting, taking supplements, a mostly regular sleep schedule, and exercise and physical activity the past few months as I was again able to do so... so continuing along the same lines of what you're doing now might be your best option while saving up money to do some further testing...

at this point, I would recommend doing no further food intolerance testing because I think your food intolerances (for the most part at least) are likely the result of a compromised system from some unidentified root cause(s)... I'd be inclined to think for a couple reasons (cost, accessibility, diagnostic efficacy, and likelihood to play a part in your situation) that the Igenex IGG and IGM Western Blots would be the best test to run when you get the money... the cost would be $190 though you might also have to pay out of pocket for a doctor depending on what doctor you are able to get to authorize and draw the blood for the testing...

it might also be beneficial for you to do a general parasite test and these are relatively cheap (if I recall right, I don't think you'd be paying more than $150 and it might be less than that)... you can get a candida test done along with most parasite tests as well.. I did these tests through a nutritionist who used a couple labs for the tests..

in regards to lyme disease and ticks, I don't even remember getting bit by a tick (except for once as a kid)... seems to be the case for a respectable percentage of people who test positive for lyme...

and as for not being able to take vitamins now, it might just be that the ones you've tried aren't as hypoallergenic as some others... some of the better vitamins might cost a bit more but won't have a lot of the filler ingredients and additives in other vitamins... I was hit or miss with different vitamins last year as I was trying to find ones my body agreed with and I seem to do good with the brand "Pure"... don't know what brands are sold at stores in your area...

oh, and carla, thanks for breaking up her post... I also have trouble reading posts that aren't broken up into small paragraphs...

Oh, it is tricky to be away from this thread: it grows sooo fast.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll print the post out so I'll remember them.

We owe like $1700 in bills already, so I am not wanting to see any doctors for now. I need to find a doctor though. This last week I have been bad. I had that salad one week ago and I have had stomach aches every day since. Slowly getting better. Nasty heartburn. Bloating almost all the time.

I pretty much feel I can't eat anything and my stomach gets unhappy. The last week I have been eating very little: just some fresh spinach, ham, chicken, Very Berry bars and bananas. Some water melon. This is what I eat every day. It is terrible. I almost cry when I see people being able to eat regular food. My stomach hates so much and then add on the allergies. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!! (sorry)

I feel like everything around me has legumes, dairy or gluten...not much left after that. I am allergic to most fruits and some of the veggies give me bad stomach ache from gas. Sigh. Eating and food is no fun. I am so limited it isn't even funny. My brain can't deal with it.

I did well this spring really. Things felt better, I wasn't as tired as I was before christmas. Not at all.

I doubt I have Lyme disease (would that give heart burn and stomach ache? I don't seem to have the symptoms that I have read it should have online...but who knows.) or Candida. I eat like no sugar, so I dunno how the candida would have grown..

I dunno.. I have been staring to doubt the EnteroLab tests, although I have goten TONS better not eating gluten and dairy and it hasn't been more than 6 months or so.

I try to keep a diary on what I eat, but I react to the strangest things some times. And I can eat one thing and do well on it one day and get sick feeling on the same thing the next. I hate not being able to eat more than like 5 things. It is making me angry. It's like my stomach isn't made to eat food or something.

I hate seeing doctors too. They never believe me. I have had several of them telling me the stupidest things. >:oC

On the bright side one of my co-workers sees a good homeopathic/naturpath doctor that takes insurance (not sure if they take mine). I should go and see him. I guess he is very open minded...but I have heard that before.

Our insurance isn't very good and we make very little money for now. It will get better, but we have those bills sitting...so I am trying to just wait for a while.

I have tried a couple of different vitamins. Kirkman Labs allergy friendly ones were the last ones I tried.. They do not make me sick but I get blood sugar drops like crazy several times a day when I take vitamins since my stomach got bad. I start shaking and I feel I more or less have to eat constantly so I gave that up for now. I am sure I should eat some type of vitamin though.

I asked about checking my vitamin levels at the doctors office I have gone to. They aren't good with stomachs by the way. They just told me it was really expensive to have that done and that if something is wrong it will show up on regular blood work. I was in the middle of some other health issues, what I pay for now with those bills, so I let it rest for now. I should go to another doctor for the stomach stuff anyways.

Sorry about my angry thread. I am just having one of those days when things feel really hard dealing with this.

My stomach feels like it has been digesting glass off and on this past week... Grr..

  12. You can read about H. Pylori here: Open Original Shared Link

I don't know much about it, but I would read all about it if I were having symptoms and docs said it was unnecessary to treat. I would want to fully understand why. Unfortunately, we have to take charge of our own health ... doctors just don't always do a good job of doing that for us.

I have never heard a doctor before NOT wanting to treat that bacteria. That is the one they believe is behind most ulcers.

    Strange.

I agree with Carla that doctors don't always do a good job.

    ----------

My stomach was odd feeling for a long time after I stopped with gluten. I did have some other food intolerances too that I figured out and it seems it can take a long while to get better for some.

  13. ...I think my big problem is that we have like no money for doctors. We have a bunch of health related bills that we are paying right now. I can't go see a doctor for a while if it isn't an emergency.

It is also hard to find specialized doctors up here in Alaska it seems. Maybe I should look for a homeopathic doctor..?

I was bit by the Tics in Sweden. Never had any redness and I removed them while they were tiny. Sweden is FULL of tics by the way. When we went for a walk with the dog we removed several Tics on him (that hadn't bit yet) every time we got home. We always had pants and socks over them or high boots and checked our skin all over when we got home. Terrible. It is a big problem over there and they give vaccines for one of the diseases that Tics can give you now.

My brother got an infection after a Tic a couple of years ago and got antibiotics for it right away. It went away.

I guess I should add on that my life has been VERY stressy and hard the last 4-5 years for many different reasons. I am thinking my stomach is bad often because of this too.

Seems there are so many things to figure out when it comes to ones health. Hard to find doctors that are good too. I am feeling very overwhelmed. Not knowing where to start.

  14. Thanks for the welcome everyone! :D

    Well...hhmmm..lets seee..

I got really sick in 2003 with nausea, stomach aches, chronic fatigue, memory problems (couldn't remember my own number if someone asked), irregular heart beat, diarrhea and freaky 24/7 heartburn that didn't get better on any medications (used to give me sores in my throat). I was tested for gluten in 1996 (blood test-not sure which one or how many they took, I was very new to all of this then) and also lactose. Both came up negative. I was tested because I had time periods when I got nauseous and some diarrhea. Well, I was told I had IBS and that it would go away on its own, and it actually did. I had problems with my stomach off and on after that and I remember my stomach was always sensitive since I was a kid. Mom told me I didn't wanna gain weight as an infant and I always ate bad.

Anyways...Saw like 9 doctors. Most of them in Sweden and they all just told me it was IBS, worry and some even told me I had no problems because the medication (at that time Nexium) would take care of it. I had a gastroscopi done and it didn't show anything.

They never checked my intestinal lining, just the ventricle/stomach.

Then in the US they gave me Protonix and that helped a bit better. I often had stomach aches, diarrhea, irregular heart beat and I was constantly tired. I felt like a pile of garbage.. Last spring I got so tired and fatigued that I actually thought I was gonna die. I slept a whole night and felt like I hadn't slept in days. I was nauseas constantly and it was very hard to eat anything. My husband started reading about Gluten Intolerance online and I decided to try. I felt slight better after a bit and I went to the doctor for blood test again. I hadn't had gluten (as much as I knew by that time) in 3 weeks and they tests came out negative.

Still I had an improvement with my heart burn so I stayed with the diet and found this place. I heard of EnteroLab here and decided to try it. It came back positive on gluten and casein. I had one Celiac gene and one gluten intolerance one.

(I guess I should also mention that my aunt has a bunch of problems with her stomach and my grandmother died because of problems with her stomach. She had TONS of surgery because of diverticulitis, had stomi at one point and many times had ulcers. In the end, when she was 77, she had to go to the ER every 2 weeks because of her stomach and the last time they did surgery the intestines where so bad off that she dies 3 weeks after. They didn't work anymore.)

Okay, so I stopped with casein in October when I got the test results. Got a bit more energetic but still had heartburn and attacks of fatigue during the days sometimes. I then stopped with soy (I had a 9>10 on it from EnteroLab) and eventually all Legumes when they gave me stomach aches and heart burn.

Now, I have TONS more energy and kinda feel I am "the old jenny" a little bit, but I still have a bloated stomach every week, seems to not be able to handle much foods at all. I seem to be okay on fresh veggies, but far from all. Then add on that I am allergic to peach, apple, plums, carrots, pears, cherries, strawberries and nuts... I feel nasty eating Avocado and any more than tiny amounts of oil (probably why I can't handle avocado) makes me sick. I seem to be super sensitive to trace amounts of for example casein. They gave me BCP this spring (and I ate them for a month only) and they had a lactose in them that is supposed to be more or less casein free, well it made me very sick. I stopped with the BCP because they made my migraine with aura much worse (had 4 in a weekend) and I later found out that one isn't supposed to eat hormones if one has migraine with aura. Nobody ever asked.

So bloating, my stomach gets very easily upset, easily nauseas (but that has gotten much better), seem to have a lot of gas too off and on. I can't seem to handle egg, corn seems iffy too (my Protonix has corn in it I noticed..)..

I dunno, I just wish I had a more "steady" time. I get sick every month. I do live in a home that has gluten and casein everywhere (with my husbands family-we have had money problems because of my health among other things, things are starting to look up now though).. I seem to get sick even if I do everything right. I follow all suggestions and I never go to restaurants.

I started drinking bottled water a couple of months ago, but I heard from that doctor that talks about chemical sensitivities on DR Fine's DVD that the bottles are supposed to be glass instead of plastic. The water picks up some plastic stuff from them that aren't good.

I am all into organic stuff. Most veggies and fruits that I buy is organic. I hate eating medications and I try to leave as "clean" as possible. I am sensitive to perfume/fragrance and haven't used perfume in years. I get a rash from fabric softener sheets.

I also itch really bad from chemical sun blockers... so I know I am the sensitive type. I usually also react odd to medications. Not all but a lot of them. Small doses of Ibuprofen makes me absolutely beat. I can hardly walk up stairs. There are some other medications that I don't handle well either. I seem to get a lot of side effects. (also I haven't been able to eat Vitamins so far-used to before this all started)

Lyme disease is what you can get from Tics right? I have been bitten twice, but it was a looong time ago and it never got red or anything. I removed them very fast.

I don't have any amalgam in my mouth (if that is of interest)...Hmm.. I am sure I have forgotten stuff.

Maybe someone has some ideas. Take a stab at it!

(..and if you think my English is a little different that

  15. Wow, this is a long thread.. I tried to read some of it but it is just too long to get a understanding of it..

I wanted to read it because I seem to still have issues after I stopped with gluten, casein and legumes. My stomach seems to get out of sorts so easily, I seem to be very sensitive to traces of stuff I can't have and sometimes I get sick not understanding why. Like this Monday I suddenly got a bad stomach ache after eating sallad and I have some of the ache still. Had some diarreah, easily get bloated.. I am not sure if I can handle egg or corn, rice..any grains. I have many food allergies too..

I have no doctor that I see and I have had negative results on 2 blood tests (10 years apart).. I have gotten way better on the gluten-free diet but I wish I was better. I read the long thread about EnteroLab a while back. I was positive in their test, but like so many other I wonder why Dr Fine isn't coming out with any stuff about his work.... So I am wishing here that I was properly diagnosed...but after seeing 9 doctors and not getting any help that way I gave up.

So..I am wondering if I am missing something. Trying to figure that out from this thread I guess. I know I don't have Lyme disease...doesn't sound like I have Chron's, Colitis or any or those diseases.. It is tiresome to fight somehimes. I know I am much better since this winter, but I wanna be better, understand WHY I get sick sometimes when it seems I did it all right. (This time I figured out it might have been because I forgot to wash the veggies before I ate them. Just seems so stupid.)

Maybe a weird post. Don't know where to start... Hope it is fine if I jump in here like this.

Maybe someone can tell me in short what this thread is all about. I have seen some of you have figured out other issues.

  16. It can have false positives (I'm not sure about false negatives). It helps to pinpoint things and make an elimination diet easier to start since you know what to eliminate. Otherwise just go on a basic elimination diet and add in one food every 4-7 days (after at least 2 weeks of starting elimination diet).

I have kinda tried eliminating things and it hasn't made me all that wiser. Some stuff I figured out, but I seem to not like a lot of stuff and sometimes one things works and doesn't work after I have had it a couple of times.. I also would like to check my old allergies. See if any of it changed (stone fruits among other things). I guess ELISA doesn't do allergies? More for intolerance&sensitivities it sounds like?

    Thanks for your reply.

  17. (I guess this page isn't letting me type the name of the company I am asking about so it it ends up saying "Lame Advertisement" instead.)

I am wanting to check myself for more sensitivities. I am doing much better since I stopped with Legumes, Casein and Gluten, but I seem to get sick sometimes not understanding why. I am super sensitive, it seems, to cross contamination and my stomach is often bloated still. (I got really sick this week and I think it is because I forgot to wash my veggies before I ate them..but who knows.)

My heartburn is much better, I feel over all much happier and have much more energy..but I would like to be better. I also have allergies to a bunch of stuff that I was tested for as a child with skin tests.

I pretty much feel very cornered when it comes to food. I need to know better what I can have and not have..and I so wish I had a positive blood test at the doctor instead of with EnteroLab. Reading peoples skepticism about that place sometimes makes me doubt things... Hate that. Even if I have had a very strong dietary response, I wish I was better still.

So what to do? I don't have a doctor that I go to. I have seen many and nobody has had any clue and they have all told me it is IBS, worry and gall bladder problems..

Some what confused post here...I am getting tired of things and not knowing where to turn of what to do.. I was reading the Living Without Magazine and saw their advertisement in it. Anyone tried their services?
